My Review of Palisades VW:
I received an e-mail on 6/02 from Syed Ispahany of Palisades VW stating that the order placed on 4/11, almost 2 months earlier, would not be fulfilled. He then tells me that they were going to add an extra $473 to the price of the car if I wanted to re-order. The MSRP on the 2009, for the same specs, is actually $246 LESS and they were trying to charge me $473 MORE. We had a contract for them to deliver my car at the price of $16,490.00. Item 6(a) in the back of the contract states that "no additional fee or charge will be imposed or collected due to changes in the manufacturer's list price" So they are in breach of contract. But, they left a bad taste in my mouth and I want nothing else to do with their dealer, so I asked for my $500 deposit to be refunded. They have not done so. According to an internet sales manager from another dealer, he hasn't been able to place an order for a 2008 VW Rabbit since MARCH. I believe this salesman/dealer knew this from the beginning and kept my money for 2 months. I don't see any goodwill in this at all, quite the opposite. Sounds like they had a hidden agenda to get me in the dealer promising me one thing and then hoping I would take whatever they offered me down the line. When I walked in to the dealer the salesman, Syed, was hardly apologetic. He couldn't even explain to me why it took him 2 months to realize the car couldn't be ordered. He would not do anything about the price either, not even honor the contract that we had both signed. So I asked for the sales manager, John Nahass, but he was out that day. The finance manager, I forget his name, came over and I tried to explain the situation to him, he seemed like he didn't care either. I asked them to call the sales manager because they obviously were no help and he proceeded to tell me to calm down or he would call the cops. The people they have working at this dealer don't know the first thing about customer service and honesty. Their sales practices are questionable and unethical to say the least.
