My Review of Pohanka Acura:
I had my 2003 TL-S serviced for its 90k mile maintenance on July 2, 2008. I was told it would take 2-3 hours. Four hours later, I received a phone call telling me that on top of the maintenance service ($450), the ball joints were worn and they recommended I get new front brakes ($350), new rear brakes ($350) - which by the way were just replaced the year before, and two new rear tires (I do not remember the price). I tell them I do not want any of the additional services. I pick up my car five hours after I had dropped it off and as I am leaving there is a loud screeching sound, like none I have ever heard before. The service manager claimed it was because I had worn out the brakes. He did not even come into the car to listen to the noise and he refused to tell me anything other than "you're the one who wore out your brakes - we didn't wear out your brakes." Poor customer service! The only reason I took my car there was because I had such a positive sales experience there. I will NEVER go there again for service and urge other customers to take their cars elsewhere.

My Review of Pohanka Acura:
I have purchased a used Acura RDX from this dealer. The sales person Danny Wright was very informative about the product and helpful. Jamal at Finance was fantastic and same for Danny Montanna in Serivce.

Mr Lenny Gonzales the General Manager of the dealership spent over 30 minutes talking to us and thinking us for our business and was extremely friendly and nice. I have purchased 23 cars both in Australia and US and this was by far the most professional dealership I have dealt with.

With Thanks
Ali L.

My Review of Pohanka Acura:
Everything was perfect. Smooth and easy from the time I walked in the door. I was greeted almost immediately by Lauren who was very helpful in answering all my questions about the RDX. After the road test we walked around the car and she pointed out all the features paying close attention to the options that she knew I cared most about. When it came time to finance the car I have to admit that I was a little worried about my credit and what my payment would be. Jamal Edmonds in finance was great. He got me the payment I wanted for the time period I was looking for. While I waited for the car to be cleaned and have some accessories put on I was introduced to Lenny, the general manager, who was really nice. He congratulated me on the new car and welcomed me to the Pohanka family. Then Lauren took me through the service department and introduced me to one of the guys over there and they told me about their hours and what to expect with the new car. All in all it was the best and easiest car purchase I've ever made. Kudos to the whole Pohanka staff.

My Review of Pohanka Acura:
I went to Pohanka Acura last week to purchase a TL Type-S after hearing great things about them from my co-worker. When I got there I was greeted by Mr. Frederick Asiedu, he was the most knowledgable saleperson I have ever met. I was very picky on what kind of car I wanted, I was stuck on having a white one with black leather and I needed the 6 speed and being as large as they are they had the exact car that I wanted in stock. While I waited for my car to be brought over from their other lot I met the general manager, Lenny Gonzales. He is the nicest person in that dealership. It doesnt hurt him that he is also very charming and good looking. My finance manager was also great, Courtney is her name, she is so nice and professional. She let me know all the options I had as far as financing my car, extended warranties, and other options that they offer there. Over all i would recommend Pohanka Acura to anyone I know that is in the market for an Acura.

My Review of Pohanka Acura:
After years of being a satisfied Honda customer, I upgraded my vehicle and purchased an Acura. A decision that I have been very happy with. So far, I have purchased four Acuras and I have done so through Pohanka Acura in Chantilly. I have my vehicles serviced there as well. The service and sales department have always treated me extremely well.....hence, my return to do more business with this dealership. The integrity and business ethics with this dealership have been, in my opinion, worth of praise. I have been treated respectfully; been provided information requested, and have never felt like a sales victim. Something one cannot find easily. It's been an excellent business relationship and the next time I or someone I know needs great service and honest sales....I'll be recommending Pohanka Acura.

It's an upscale service with the down-home family feel. I cannot recommend this dealership and all its employees highly enough! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

My Review of Pohanka Acura:
I have bought several cars from Pohanka Acura and will say that I have always had good service and pricing from their sales department. I have not had a lot of experience with their service department, but I would recommend buying a car from the dealership and based on my service experiences would recommend them as well. I find it hard to believe that the comments made on this website are fair reviews of the overall quality of business. Everyone writes in when they have a complaint, very few when they have kudos to give. This dealership has been #1 in the country for over four years. You can't tell me that these aren't isolated incidents when a dealership has that kind of record.

My Review of Pohanka Acura:
I bought my 2002 RSX from Pohanka, which went relatively well, mostly because an employee had priced it $2000 below book online by accident. However, when I got rear ended, I decided to take it to Pohanka Collision to get repaired. I thought I would be treated well, since I had purchased the car there, however, the service was horrible. They kept my car for 6 days, and did not remount the bumper correctly, which is quite simple, so I made them keep it an extra day. Essentially insurance paid more for my Kia rental than it did for the repair of my car, and it shows. NEVER get your car fixed at Pohanka Acura.

My Review of Pohanka Acura:
Dealing with the sales team was a very pain-free process. We were pleased with the price and everything worked out exactly how we wanted it to. However when it came to getting our money back on the trade-in things took a different turn. I have never dealt with a General Sales Manager (Mr. Gonzalez) so arrogant, condescending, and un-empathetic before. The accounting dept. didn't send the pay-off out in a timely manner, thus not allowing us to receive our check in the time promised. When the complaint was brought to the GSM, he was the biggest jerk we have ever dealt with. We brought our old Acura there for service and were very pleased, and so that's why we chose buy our new Acura from them. However, if this is how their management treats customers, I never want to do business with them again ... and we won't. To bad for them, because they just lost out on another sale.

My Review of Pohanka Acura:
I bought a used 03 TL that was a formerly leased vehicle and was certified. I was provided the CarFax report and checked Kelly Blue Book while my 89 Legend was being evaluated for trade-in. Price was $2300 less than KBB. I got a fair price for my trade-in with no haggle. I only got one wireless key fob and no valet key, though I was told the valet key was there. I called and was initially told "it's a used vehicle--what you have is all you get", but when I arrived to get a valet key and a can of touch-up paint, I got both plus another wireless key fob for the 2nd memory seat (very used)--but all free. This car has navigation, and before I purchased I was told I'd get a free update from Pohanka every year, a $185 value. The current DVD is from 2003 or earlier, so I'm unsure whether they'll honor this (new updates come out yearly in Sep). Ledys also said I could download an update from the internet, which I find hard to believe, but as yet cannot refute. Overall experience was positive, but I'll be cautious and wary of service here based on other inputs.

My Review of Pohanka Acura:
We had our 01 TL with 55k miles in for a Virginia State Safety Inspection. We recieved a call saying the front ball joints were bad. I had them reject the car. I am a licensed Virginia State Safety Inspector (work for a private fleet & can only inspect company owned vehicles) and checked the front end myself. I did not find anything wrong. I took the car to another shop for inspection. They did not find anything wrong with the front end. They put a new inspection sticker on. I am dissapointed since they are around the corner from the house. I will find another place to take the car for service.

My Review of Pohanka Acura:
I recently took my 2003 TL in for the 60K service. The customer service rep called me and told me that the ball joints needed to be replaced. He said that this was a safety item and that it would not pass the state safety inspection. This made me suspicious, because I had just had the state inspection performed on the car the previous week and the inspector said that everything looked great. I therefore declined to have Pohanka replace the ball joints, but after I had picked the car up I took it to a reputable auto repair shop and had them inspect the ball joints. They could not find any problems. I can only conclude that either the Pohanka mechanic was incompetent, or they were trying to run up my bill with unnecessary work. Either way, this is why I rated their customer service, quality of work, and overall experience so low. The customer service rep was polite but condescending. The pricing was average.

I contacted this dealership in regards to COSTCO auto program and expecting to purchase the Acura TSX in the very near future. The customer service I received was beyond reprehensible. Their representative felt the need to sell me a car other than the one I had already decided to purchase. When I asked for information regarding the car I was interested in I was ignored and to this day have not received any correspondence regarding the information I had requested. I will never do business with Pohanka in the future. FYI, I purchased the automobile I was interested in from Radley Acura in Woodbridge and the service (so far) has been excellent.

Price quoted was for my car choice, which was supposedly in stock, only to find car was not in stock, was told if they had to order the car there would be a price increase - "bait and switch" not sure, then was told car would be delivered on a certain date, only to find car not delivered on certain date, not sure when delivery will be made. They just don't seem to have their act together.

This guy that I dealt with solely by online was the most arrogant /rude salesman I have dealt with. I had requested quotes from Acura but ended buying Lexus. Out of courtesy I notified this guy by email that I had got Lexus and I would not need any further quites. The guy sends me an email ridiculing me about my decision. I was in the market for another car (still I am) - could still be an Acura- but Pohanka definitely lost it's chance because of this rude employee. If I were his manager (I hope he doesnt own this place) I will fire him.

Very unethical - would not provide an out the door price via email. Said they needed more information regaridng the purchase. We had already provided make, model, year, color, accessories, and indicated that we were buying the car in cash the next seven days.

Would only deal over the phone or in person and sent back some ridiculour email about not disclosing the price because they needed to protect my privacy rights. This was an obvious ploy to get me in so they could apply more of thier same tired tricks.

Stay away form these people. If the dealer cannot disclose full pricing details w/o haggling you in person, go somewhere else.

Sent to same request to Chevy Chase Acura; got a great price with full pricing details promptly and easily

My Review of Pohanka Acura:
We wanted a black RSX Type-S witha six-speed that was listed on their website. Were were told that it was arriving the following week. We were pressured repeatedly to put money down on this car without having seen it. Ojo went so far as to tell ust that it had been sold, and then call us the next day to say that it had fallen through. My girlfriend told Ojo that she was tired of his nonsense, and he insulted her and literally hung up on her. At that point, we talked to the Sales manger, Greg Altman, who offered us a lower price and the opportunity to deal directly with him, rather than one of the non-english speaking sales staff that they roped off the first boat there.
Greg and the finance department persuaded us, against our better judgement, to sign the paperwork for this car, and sign a check for $3500 as a down payment that they would hold until the car arrived and we decided to accept it. The car was already late at that point, and was scheduled to come in Friday. Not only did it not come in, but they decided to reward theirselves by cashing our check. Th finance manager said that he was sorry, he didn't know what happened, ad he couldn't fix it. At this time, we have been waiting 22 days for this vehicle. here are some great big piles of crap that Greg Altman has tried to shovel on us so far:
-The car will be here tomorrow/next week/Friday/Saturday/etc
-They (Acura) don't tell us (the dealership) when the cars are coming in.
-It's at the port in Baltimore
-The unions are in control of the whole situation
-It's out of our hands
-Don't shoot the messenger
-I personally spoke with the truck driver and he said it will be here tomorrow.

I could go on, but the point is, that if you want to buy an Acura, then I advise you to do anything, and I mean ANYTHING to avoid this place. I'm serious. If your choice is between buying from Pohanka Acura and driving to Kansas to buy a more expensive car from an unstable but honest mental patient, go to Kansas. You'll be happier in the end, and you will probably get some sort of actual car, as opposed to what I got; a $3500 hole in my bank account and a lot of B.S.

My Review of Pohanka Acura:
We bought a 2002 MDX from them and the entire transaction was a tragic comedy of errors. <br><br>First, we found the car listed on the certified pre-owned Acura website. It was listed as having 20,000 miles and costing $21K. We checked the attached Carfax report to ensure that the car was okay. We called Pohanka to make sure that this was legitimate, because we lived about 90 minutes away and my wife was due to have our baby on that day! So, we travelled to Chantilly to test drive the car and see if this was for real. <br><br>We go to test drive it, and I start it up and the odometer reads 34000 miles! I questioned them and the salesman simply states that the website must have had a typo. During the test drive, we repeatedly ask the salesman if he's sure that this car is being sold for the price it's listed for, and he repeatedly tells us yes.<br><br>Thus, we agree to purchase the vehicle and only then does the sales manager come over and say that they can't sell it for that price because it's not right. Even though we're ticked off as hell at this point, we continue to deal with them because we're not sure that our trade in will make it back home. <br><br>We finally come to an agreeable rate, price, and payment, but when we go to sign the financing paperwork, we're told that they figured the taxes for Virginia instead of Maryland, which is a bit more and screws up our whole payment plan. The finance guy seemed very unwilling to work with us despite the sales manager's request to do what he needed to do to give us the deal we wanted. <br><br>I will say that the car has run well, but we're still not done dealing with all the crap involved. A few days after the sale, we receive a call saying that we can't transfer our old tags because we need SUV tags in Maryland. About two weeks later, they call us again to let us know that we need to get a Maryland State Inspection before we get our tags. We should have known this, but they really should have reminded us of this when we bought the car and not three weeks into owning it, plus dealing with car formalities was not really on the minds of me and my pregnant wife. Finally, the temp VA tags we got were about to expire, so I called a week before they expired to get a new set. The expiration date came and we hadn't received any new tags, so I called again to see what happened. Apparently the person that was tasked to do that left early and didn't do it, but didn't that person any other day that week? Thus, they had to overnight new tags to us.<br><br>Basically, the entire transaction was a clusterf***. We feel like we got suckered into going down there to begin with, and then it seems like they've never sold a car to anyone out of state before. Thankfully we won't have to return there for service as it seems like their service department is just as bad.

On the evening of May 11, 2004 I picked up my 2003 RSX from service. After paying $85.00 for the 10,000 service, I noticed that they charged me $1.95 for washer fluid. I checked the washer fluid and it was DRY! I checked the hinges and latches and they were DRY. I looked at the brake calipers and they looked dirty, all of which I paid to have serviced. The service advisor gave me a full refund and I waited and watched the service finally get performed on my RSX. When the car was finished, the hinges and latches were oiled and the calipers were clean. Although the service advisor told me the calipers received the service the first time, but they just did not clean the outside of the housing, I have serious reservations given the fact I found other MISSING services. Not good.

My Review of Pohanka Acura:
Horrbible dealership, this is the kind of dealership that represents the stereotypical &quot;car salesman&quot;. Bought a 05 TL at the dealership, did not read about the reviews about this dealership until I ran into my own problems. Initially, I told STEVE that I could put down as much money necessary for financing. He checked my credit and said it was not established and that I needed to pay the complete about 34k upfront. I told him that I would come back the next day with a check. During that time, my GF who has a excellent credit and just purchased a Toyota a month earlier suggested that she could co-sign it. Once I arrived at the dealership, STEVE had informed us that he couldn't process it because the CO-SIGNER CAN ONLY BE A BLOOD-RELATIVE. I only figured this out after I contacted American Honda Financing who finances Acura in the US how false and downright misleading STEVE was. I can't believe they get away with such unethical practices, and WARN ALL TO STAY AWAY. The good review left on this forum was most likely their own shady employees. I am currently consulting a lawyer to see if there could be any recourse for this misrepresentation.

I had an Acura Vigor several years back and the timing belt of this sucker needed changing. Seems Acura had installed the bolt too tightly on this vehicle. Bolt broke while repairing, ending up costing us $900 for a freaking timing belt change, no water pump included! ANyways, we asked them to reconsider since it was not our fault the factory had f'd up. No discount and no recourse allowed. I was wonderin if they have a site for the Pohanka Lexus division? Also once brought my GS300 there once and told them I thought my gas cap was probably just loose and causing my engine light to come on. They checked and confirmed what I thought. Took 5 minutes, $60. Rip off coming and going. When I bought my new LX470, they were $3500 higher than Lindsay Lexus and the other Lexus dealer here in Washington. Seems they dont care about pricing, if you do, go somewhere else!

Pohanka Acura has not honored the deal that was offered to us at the time of signing. The transaction was totally misrepresented, and we feel that constitutes fraud. My Review of Pohanka Acura:
I have filed a complaint of sales fraud that occured when I leased a new 2003 Acura TL model from Pohanka Acura of Chantilly, VA on 4/24/2003. When we worked the deal, I had a 2000 Honda that was near lease end and was over the mileage limit. The salesman, Scott Bershader, looked at and drove my car, and said &quot;it&#8217;s very clean, we can help you out&quot; since you're leasing with Honda Finance already, because that's who will be the lessor for the TL. (I figured they had a special turn in arrangement) He said he would find out the pay off and left the table. When he came back he said he could turn it in for me and pay the remaining 3 payments along with the mileage overage. He filled out a check request for $1600.00 and said, &quot;this will more than cover the remaining payments and additional mileage of your Honda lease.&quot; He clearly said, &#8220;this WILL pay your final three payments and the mileage penalty&#8221;. I was not confused, he did not say &#8220;I&#8217;ll offer you $1600.00&#8221; or &#8220;I&#8217;ll give you $1600.00 toward your lease&#8221;. Also, my wife was sitting right next to me and was also part of the purchase conversation. I asked if he was sure and he said, &quot;yes, you'll even have a few extra dollars left over.&#8221; I have it in writing on a check request as well as a check stub. <br><br>http://home.comcast.net/~jm20110/check-request2.jpg<br><br>After 6 weeks Honda had taken another payment from my checking account for the Accord and it was still at the dealership and in my name. But to make matters worse, after 12-15 calls and/or emails to the dealership and to Honda finance (with only a few return calls) I found out by calling Honda Finance myself, that the figure the salesman came up with and assured me would satisfy the Honda lease is approximately $1536.46 short. The total, seems to be $866.81 for the last two (plus) payments of $367.37 ea. and $2269.35 for the additional mileage, which would total $3136.46. I talked to the GM, Lenny Gonzales and my salesman in person, and they both agreed that Scott, my salesman made a math mistake and it was a very bad deal for them. Lenny then said, since &quot;they didn't make any money on the car, they certainly couldn't give me any money back&quot;. This statement was ridiculous because in the end I was paying more for the lease than the current televison ad campaign. <br><br>I then talked to Scott Crabtree, executive manager of the Pohanka dealership, on 6/4/03 and he said he would not help me either. He said it was a terrible deal and that I agreed to $1600.00 and that&#8217;s the deal. I told him I agreed to the figure HIS salesperson told me would satisfy my lease and release me from it, after he supposedly obtained that number by calling Honda Finance. Whether it was intentional or not, I was misled and entered the new lease contract based on that lie. <br><br>This has been the worst buying experience I have ever encountered and the great customer service that Pohanka Acura talks about on their web site is a joke. Their customer service is nonexistant. I demand that Pohanka Acura honor the agreement that was made on 4/24/2003 and pay the final three payments of $367.37 each, (actually turned out to be 2 about 1/2 mo. payments of $866.81) and the additional mileage penalty of $2269.35 to end my lease with Honda Finance. <br><br>To date, Pohanka Acura has sent me the check for $1600.00 to be used for the payoff of my 2000 Honda Accord. They now need to honor their agreement and pay me the additional $1536.46 so I can be released from the Honda as promised. <br>

Low pressure, no bait-and-switch, and very patient (particularly with my less-than-commital wife!).<br><br>The RL has been brought in for routine service the three years we have had it , and they had a bus service (fair) but went to loaner cars - never told me one was unavailable. Service has been well done, as well: clean car and no returns.
