My Review of
Right Honda
:
Tom helped us resolve some of the stupidity encountered with the process and completion of forms from the Honda Mobility Program from Torrance. Not only should the forms be clear of what it truly required but also NOT require a Medical DX or copy of source of payment! Our delay was because a source of payment (my credit card) needed to be photocopied and submitted BUT THIS IS NOT ON THE FORM thus further delaying any reimbursement resulting in delays over 30 days as indicated on the paper work to allow for issuance, but also leaving the consumer to pay a 2nd month's interest on the credit card - for something that WAS NOT REQUIRED ON THE FORM IN THE 1ST PLACE! I hope some management numbskull upstream involved with Honda Mobility uses their head and fixes this so good folks like Tom doesn't have to babysit an unnecessary and potential illegal decision someone made in corporate upstream!

Outstanding service from start to finish. Friendly, no pressure, and we felt the price was right after shopping around at numerous other Honda Dealerships. The individual salesmen mentioned (JC Campbell, Kevin Curry, and Edward Lounds) were very helpful after the sale as well. We would recommend Right Honda without hesitation.

My Review of
Right Honda
:
All I can say is that my experience with this dealership has not been good. Be careful. In my opinion, they will screw you over on price and add extra fees. I wouldn't even waste my time with them. Go to another Honda dealership. I know other people who have had a horrible experience. Total rip-off and makes car dealers have a bad name. Once they get you into the sales room they start to put high pressure on you. I would never buy from them again.

My Review of
Right Honda
:
I was referred to Scott Monteiro at Right Honda from my mother and my sister who bought cars from him. From the very beginning Scott was professional, polite and knew everything about the Honda's that I asked. He showed us 3 different Honda models, we test drove them all which helped us to make a decision on the Honda that was right for us. From start to finish he made this the best and easiest purchase of a car we had ever had. My mom and sister said the same with their purchases as well. Even after we came out of signing all our paperwork he took another 25-30 minutes going over our books and again showing us all the features of our new car. He is/was the best salesperson we have ever worked with, and I will send anyone and everyone who is looking for a car new or used to see Scott. And like with my mom and sister he called me back the next day to thank ME for my business, and I thought wow I am the one who should have called him and thanked him for making our purchases so pleasurable. So to ANYONE looking for a car go see Scott Monteiro at Right Honda he and his staff are THE BEST!!! Thank you again Scott.

My Review of
Right Honda
:
I was looking to trade in my current 2010 Honda Civic VP model car for a more fuel efficent car, 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid. Even though the price of the Hybrid was far out of my range expensive, my Sale rep Ryan Sanchez was nice enough to work with me to get my payments down to where I could comfortable afford the payments. I have no regrets in trading in the 2010 Civic VP for the 2012 Civic Hybrid. I absolutely love it.

Everyone was great!
My Review of
Right Honda
:
Last year I bought a new 2011 Honda Civic for my daughter who attends Arizona State University. We were referred by a friend and loved our experience from the second we drove on their lot. The sales guys were friendly and helpful as well as the sales department head (forgot his name). We drove off that same day in her new car and she has been back several times for service. As a worried ASU dad who lives in California, it was important to find the right dealer to take care of my daughter when I can't be out there to help. Thanks to everyone at the dealer from the sales staff to the service, great people!

My Review of
Right Honda
:
I love Honda, but this dealership is not the "right" place to get one. First let me start off by saying; don't sign anything here without fully knowing what you're doing and, if you can, avoid going here at all costs. My advice is to find a friend who knows the business before even considering any type of car deal. DON'T GO TO "RIGHT" Honda!
About Right Honda and my experience. My dad and I signed a deal last year and it was the worst experience ever. I just got the car and bounced. Never wanting to deal with them again. One year later, they took my name off the deal and put my Dad on it fully by lying to him making him think I would have to go in after he signs some paperwork. When I went in to "reassure" the deal it was already complete. They had scammed my Dad into buying my own car. When I confronted them with recordings and paperwork they started to sweat customer service. I told them to bring out paperwork and said they couldn't. After persuading them a bit they brought it out. THE DEAL WAS HORRIBLE, they totally tried pulling a fast one on my Dad. I talked them down on price and the "warranty" that my Dad had no idea about. The best part is they promised to give me $600 and a free oil change. And just to let you know, they haven't even meet that small promise. So I wanted to check up on that and when I called in today asking for my money, CORY the financial "manager" literally said f*** you. Literally! No matter the situation, a customer should never have a business person say that in any circumstance.
This was the worst experience I have ever had buying anything. They are horrible business people with a bad reputation. DON'T GO HERE!

My Review of
Right Honda
:
Before you consider working with Right Honda of Scottsdale, I recommend that you research their online reputation on review sites like this thoroughly first. In reality, all you need to do to understand how Right Honda works is to drive into their lot. You will notice that 13 different salesmen are standing on the curb, waiting for you. The reason that one will immediately walk up to you as soon as you arrive is because they call out your car as you drive in to "stake their claim" on your sale. So, the reason you're working with that sales guy is because he shouted "White Ford!" as he saw you driving by. Now that I know this, it's a mix of pathetic desperation and comedy to watch - but it's a key indicator of how they do business.
I test drove a 2012 Honda Civic EX on two separate days (12/10 & 12/11) with two separate salesmen, Billy and Scott, at Right Honda with full intent to purchase the vehicle in December 2011. I liked working with Billy and Scott. Things seemed to be progressing as I was approved for a certain interest rate with my cosigner, with an agreed upon price for the vehicle, monthly payment amount, and the amount they would pay for my trade-in. I can't explain why I didn't go with my gut feeling to leave this dealership before this - there were too many red flags. For example, the assistant to the sales manager, Chris, told me that this deal would be completely unavailable if I didn't sign my portion of the paperwork right now - at 8:45 p.m., he said I absolutely could not come back the next day, Monday and still "get this deal." The 2012 Honda Civic EX was going to cost me $30,000 after everything was said and done - and he didn't want me to sleep on the decision, that's disturbing but not surprising.
After spending hours on the dealership waiting and waiting, we were in the finance department. Immediately, I felt uncomfortable after I saw that the numbers we discussed were totally different on paper - all these new charges were coming up that were supposed to be included in the price and my trade-in was now being valued for less. I told the finance guy, Jose, I didn't want to do this and he suddenly ripped up that contract and printed a new one - with the numbers moved around. I was commented on the differences in the numbers and told him I didn't like it. I asked questions about the papers I was signing, and Jose acted like I was talking to myself - not really interested in answering them. Jose then told me he recommended I sell my car privately if I didn't like that I wasn't getting the agreed upon price for it. I asked more questions and he didn't answer them, and I asked Scott why the numbers were different on the paper, he said he didn't know and offered no solution. I told Jose and Scott I didn't want to do this, and then Jose asked for my credit card, so clearly he wasn't listening to me or just didn't care.
After deciding not to finalize the deal, I was relieved to leave the dealership after being there for at least 7 hours. This was not before Jose refused to give me any copies of any paperwork I signed even after I requested them. Jose confirmed with me twice that none of the paperwork was going anywhere or binding in any capacity because (1) my cosigner had signed nothing (2) the owner of the trade in had not signed over the vehicle (3) I never drove the vehicle off the lot or got the keys (4) I never put any money toward my down payment and (5) Jose was not going to seek approval on the deal from Honda or from the bank because of these above factors. Obviously, this scenario is in now way equivalent to a "deal" and nothing was finalized. Jose clearly told me that my paperwork would sit in the file with nowhere to go until a deal was finalized and a portion of the down payment was put down, he made this seem like a huge inconvenience to me - that we could not finalize this without my payment.
The next evening after thinking about the discrepancies that no would could explain on the paperwork - I was sure of it - I was not going to move forward with this particular deal, but would possibly reconsider on potentially another vehicle or without my trade-in. Two calls from two separate salesmen later that night did not change things, and Billy told me I was under no obligation, but I should think about working out a deal. Billy told me he knows the GM, who would help me work out a better deal. But then their Sales Manager, Justin Settle, called me.
He didn't skip a beat - he told me would repossess my trade in (not in my name and not signed over), and would cash in the contract (not approved, not finalized, not signed by the cosigner, with no money down) because I had legally bought the car. I asked Justin to please stop making me uncomfortable and to stop being rude, because he was about to lose my business. Justin said he already had my business and told me he was not being rude and not making me uncomfortable, but he needed me to come over to the dealership right now on Monday night at 8 p.m. I told him no, so Justin told me he was going to deliver the Civic to my house regardless. He told me he was being nice to me and that my only other option was to schedule an appointment with him to work out the deal, and I could not legally walk away. To be clear, I asked him to verify and repeat what he was asking and outline the consequences for not meeting him - Justin Settle told me that if I didn't meet with him by Friday, period, he would cash in the contract and I'd have the Civic delivered to me against my wishes, then he said I was "in big trouble."
This phone call I received at 7:42 p.m. on 12/12 was so astoundingly bizarre and I did not believe a real sales manager at a reputable business would ever have spoken to a potential new customer this way. I have since called the Scottsdale Police Department about the harassment (12/12), filed complaints with Honda of America (12/13) and contacted various news outlets in the Phoenix area. Honda of America's representative, Krystal, gave me a claim # and told me that without the payment, driving the car off the lot, approving the loan and cosigner signatures she was baffled that the sales manager would have said the deal was completed. She instructed me to call Honda Finance to verify with the VIN for the Civic that there was no loan associated with me or the car - and of course - the deal wasn't finalized, so there was no connection with me and the car.
On Tuesday (12/13) a.m. I went to Right Honda and asked for my paperwork back - of course, they told me I legally bought the car an was "in this deal." More unfortunately, Right Honda refused to give me my paperwork back - except for my copy of one document that the financial manager wrote "void" on. It took 45 minutes for me to get that paper from the financial director, who interrogated me about why I didn't want to buy the car. It's hard to articulate how painful and long this entire process was, but no one should ever have to go through any of these things.
This was my first car-buying experience and I can say that at this point I will probably never purchase a vehicle from a dealership and I will most certainly never want to work with Honda. On a serious note, I noticed other reviews on Google involved a similar scenario (threats to repossess a vehicle, ruin credit and deliver a vehicle on a deal that wasn't finalized) - and it mentioned the Sales Manager at Right Honda, Justin. My heart sank because I realized if I only read those reviews first, I would have avoided this mess. Honda of America is losing lifelong customers and loyal consumers by allowing people like Justin Settle to represent their brand.
