*update to original post* The general manager, Travis, has gone above and beyond to fix the bad experience I had with both service departments. I believe Travis sincerely wanted to rectify the situation as a person, as well as a manager he wanted the dealership not to have a customer (any customer) leave with bad experience. I am thouroughly impressed with Travis and Hall Acura, even more so now, and would highly recommend them.

Ms. Wilson, I am assuming your comments below are in regard to a purchase offer we extended to you and your boyfriend on July 20th for two vehicles, and the situation regarding his trade-in. I would again like to apologize for your experience at Hall Acura Newport News. As I explained, our ne w manager misappraised your vehicle. As a sign of good faith we offered to honor your original purchase offer and trade appraisal from July 20th. Unfortunately when your boyfriend came back to the dealership on Saturday July 23rd he was no longer interested in a vehicle but wanted us to buy his trade for the misquoted appraisal. This was not the agreed upon terms, and never anything we discussed. May 9, 2016 I have thoroughly reviewed all the reconditioning and certification document relating to your purchase and found everything to be compliant with DMV requirement, Virginia law, Acura certification requirements and our company’s policies. In addition, I have reviewed these documents with the Acura District Parts and Service Manager from American Honda Motor Company. There was no indication of accident damage on the Carfax report when you purchased the vehicle over fourteen months ago, nor was there any damage reported on the Carfax report we pulled on April 13, 2016. We are both now aware that repaired damage was detected by Carfax when they appraised your vehicle on March 16, 2016. Our company has no knowledge of when that damage occurred or where the vehicle was repaired. At our expense we performed and evaluation of the repair work at our Virginia Beach Collisions Center on April 12, 2016. It was determined that the repairs performed the vehicle are all within factory specifications and Acura OEM replacement parts were used in the repair. In the spirit of goodwill we offered to purchase the vehicle from you for more than clean NADA trade-in value and clean Black Book value. The purchase offer extended in April equaled the value for a comparable vehicle that had never been damaged. In regard to the certified preowned inspection of your vehicle, we followed Acura policy when certifying your car. You have all the benefits and warranties that come with an Acura certified pre-owned vehicle. I also shared the report provided by our collision center of your vehicle with our Acura District Parts and Service Manager. The repaired damage (replaced rear quarter panel) on your vehicle does not prevent it from being an Acura certified car. In the independent appraisal that you provided it states that there is “no existing damage”. The unibody is not bent, the car is not unsafe. As far as the mileage issue, at no time did any Hall employee utilize your vehicle for personal transportation. The discrepancy in mileage is because at our own cost we drove the vehicle to our Body and Paint shop to make cosmetic repairs. You were still not satisfied with the repairs. So as a good will gesture we then took the vehicle to Bay Custom Auto in Newport News to have the work re-done. We absorbed the cost of the repair and our Service Manager, William Rodgers paid $535.52 for the repair. We feel that we have gone above and beyond to ensure your satisfaction. That is a complete lie. I have emails from Jess Gentry stating the car was taken back and forth to Hall Auto body on Spruce St in VA Beach, which is 36.6 miles. There is also responses to my review last year about this stating that as well. Plus, Hall Auto Body has no record of that. My car was taken to a guy named Marney next to Hall Nissan in VA Beach, once and I have record of that. Wow, keep digging that hole Mr. Ransom even deeper. I have an invoice showing over a 350 mile difference from when I dropped the car off at Hall Acura Newport News and when I picked it up at Hall Acura Newport News. Now Hall is saying they took it around the corner, 2.0 miles away to Bay Custom Auto. That conforms to me it was used as a personal car. The miles don't add up to the many different stories I have been told by Hand now since the story is changing it reassures me that I'm right. Evidence never lies. The $535 repair paid by the Service Manager was part of the deal. It was a condition of sale. So, don't try to act like you did something extra. Again, Hall Acura will lie and take advantage of you and it seems to start from the top with GM George Ransom. I have made a complaint with BBB and I am going to handle this through litigation and take this matter to the finish line.
