When I told the salesman I didn't want it, he said it was on all their cars but did not tell me that was an almost $700 charge for it over the sticker price. I told the finance manager I was not purchasing extras, but then found the charge listed on an extra page in the contract. I was told again it was required for all cars. When I asked for a brochure on the product, they said I could take a picture of the litter poster on the desk. I did buy the car, so that is on me, but I asked to speak to the sales manager or general manager and was told numerous times they would call me back. They have not even though it has been almost a month and I have followed up. I looked up the product PermaPlate which I have no evidence of ever having been applied to the car and found lousy reviews. As far as I am concerned, their business practices are much less than average, and they took advantage of this senior's situation. The car itself seems okay so far, and I might have done business with them again. I say might because at least one car they tried to show me appeared to need engine work and in fact the engine cover was missing. But I don't expect salespeople to know every car's issues so let it slide even though I felt he tried to gaslight me about that particular car. He would have done better to just accept my "no, valves" comment rather than trying to tell me the car was just cold. Management being unwilling to listen to a customer's concern? Not a good business practice. Forced extra of a questionable product with bad reviews to buy a used car? Also, not a good business practice. No brochure available for that product? Another poor business practice. They did give me a ride to drop off my insurance company rental, and I appreciate that just as I also appreciated the salesman only suggesting cars that were in the types and range specified. Those should be normal practices, but I did not experience them at all dealerships visited. That does not make up for the other negative practices I experienced at Subaru of Spokane. I do not see the salesman listed. The man I thought was a finance manager as he handled the paperwork is Mr. Robinson listed in the sales dept below. More

I’ve been left dealing with a situation that has caused me stress, financial strain, and daily anxiety—something no honest dealership should ever put a customer through. I had an awful experience at Subaru with Brandon Arnold. When I called upset about this, Brandon hung up on me. After that, he wouldn’t even take my calls—he would just cancel them. I had to get another sales rep involved, and instead of trying to help, they basically told me to just “go sell the car.” More
There's a few things I liked while purchasing a vehicle from the Subaru of Spokane dealership, but there were things that I didn't like. First the selection of vehicles and price ranges were excellent. The over the phone and internet sales department were prompt. We were greeted and assisted by available staff as we walked in. Pretty sure one gentleman was a manager who helped find the salesman I was working with. I drove six hours and even though salesman was busy, we understood. Car had an issue the day before we arrived and was getting repaired but we were never given a heads up. Encouraged to go look at other cars at other dealers, as I told the salesman I had other vehicles to look at the prior day. He was going to go check on the car. Called back after going to view other cars but still no update 45 minutes later. Once we heard something back we went to our hotel and heard something around 430, being nearly three hours later. Told to come over and did so in 15 minutes. Car was as in photos, but not cleaned or anything. Original salesman kinda passed us off to another salesman names Mike Osborne. He was ready to answer any questions and washed the car after I asked if dealership could do so. The following portion isn't a dealership issue but, if I used in-house financing it wouldn't have been the case. Even though loan was approved by Usaa. I couldn't receive car until 7 days later including a holiday and weekend time frame. Original salesman did state that was a possibility to be fair. I got a fair price on car, but the non negotiable permaplate feature fee was kinda off putting. $699.00 for a program that didn't cover tire or glass repair is kinda difficult to stomach for a college kid on a limited budget. Any issues that were left off final offers were adjusted and honored. Waiting area is clean and fully stocked for customers, which was nice. Employees congratulated my son as they noticed he was getting the vehicle. Original salesman did reach out with updates concerning receiving funding and honoring request for detailing vehicle. I didn't like feeling like I was passed along and car wasn't ready when I got there after driving 6 hours, but Mike Osborne is a good saleman and I would do business with him Subaru of Spokane again. Free 2 year oil change feature was also a nice thing to have added. More

I was also charged twice for oil, a gasket, and an oil filter. When I called to resolve this, I was told I’d have to wait for a callback from the employee who made the mistake. Days passed with no response. I left a message for the service manager, David Mortlock, and never heard back. Eventually, the original employee called and confirmed the charges were incorrect, promising a refund. Nearly a month later, there’s still no refund. This has been a frustrating and disappointing experience from start to finish. I can’t recommend this place to anyone looking for competent or honest service. More

Only one small complaint, trade in value was a joke so I just decided to sell the car on my own and get more than double their offer. But that’s expected when trying to get trade in from any dealership. Other than that, zero bad things to say, the salesman was super nice and gave me all the time in the world to think about my decision and didn’t rush me or pressure me into anything I wasn’t interested in. Walked out having the best experience and will definitely go back for future purchases!! More
