Instead of helping, the advisor instantly pushed back and tried to scare me by saying it would “affect my warranty.” I asked them to put that statement in writing. They refused—because they know they can’t. Toyota legally cannot void a warranty for using an oil weight the engine is globally rated for. I wasn’t asking for anything unsafe or outside Toyota specs. I tow, I idle in Texas heat, and 0W-20 is extremely thin under those conditions. Many Toyota dealers in hot climates routinely use 5W-30 for customers who tow. Instead of being honest or informed, they doubled down, got defensive, and actually threatened to kick me out—just for requesting an approved oil weight. If you own a Tacoma, you know how light the factory oil is and why 5W-30 makes sense for protection when towing. But this dealership would rather argue than provide proper service. Bottom line: they’re either uninformed or intentionally misleading customers. I won’t be returning. More
Unfair Pricing and Lack of Transparency I had a very disappointing experience with Toyota of Killeen and feel obligated to warn others. The dealership charges $200/hour for labor, which is already high, disappointing experience with Toyota of Killeen and feel obligated to warn others. The dealership charges $200/hour for labor, which is already high, but their billing practices make it worse: • I was initially charged for 10 gallons of coolant (my vehicle only needs 2.4 gallons), and it took me questioning the bill to have this corrected. • Despite being assured by the service advisor that bundling repairs (radiator, thermostat, timing belt) would save on labor costs, I was charged as though each job was done separately. Overlapping labor steps were not fairly discounted. They eventually applied small discounts, but they felt more like a token gesture rather than a real effort to address the overcharges. It’s frustrating that I had to fight for corrections when I trusted them to be fair and transparent. If you’re considering service here, I recommend being extremely cautious and reviewing your invoice thoroughly. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t return, and I expected much better from a Toyota dealership. More
Very disappointed. While in for routine service, I advised the service rep that I would like to order a top rack end cap for my 4Runner if it was under $50. The rep adv While in for routine service, I advised the service rep that I would like to order a top rack end cap for my 4Runner if it was under $50. The rep advised it was and ordered the part ($47) When Toyota called I drove in to pick up the part and it was obviously the wrong part. Toyota acknowledged that it was the wrong part and ordered the replacement, stating that it should be less expensive than the wrong part, that they would credit the difference and call me when the part came in. Three weeks and no call, so I called them. The part was there and apparently had been for some time. When I came in to pick it up, they told me that this 2oz piece of plastic cost $195 ($20 on Amazon) and that I owed the difference. I was flummoxed and paid the difference. When I got home and examined the invoice, the credit I received for the wrong part was about $10 less that what I initially paid for the wrong part. So- wrong part, bad pricing advice, no call when the part arrived and less credit for my initial purchase than what I paid. Like I said, very disappointed. More
The worst service department in Bell County. Non courteous courtesy driver/messy techs and mgt dont care.....horrible on a scale of 1 to 10 where 10 is the best they score a negative 1,000,000, Non courteous courtesy driver/messy techs and mgt dont care.....horrible on a scale of 1 to 10 where 10 is the best they score a negative 1,000,000, It is my humble opinion that the Toyota of Killeen store is a poor representation of the Toyota brand and American leadership in general. Hopefully, the can straighten themselves out and get their act together over there, because my recent experience is not in keeping with the high standards of customer service I had been accustomed to dealing with their team in the past 7 years. Maybe they need a new coach because right now that team is producing suspect work. And performing at a substandard level. Where are the quality controls? The environment indicates they aren’t being used. From start to finish the quality is just not at par. I can say this, the guys in parts and the welcome staff are always a joy, and the fridge is stocked with cold water. Other than that Toyota of Killeen is a no for me. How can you justify placing your customers into a filthy courtesy vehicle that is driven by a person who does in excess of 15 of the posted speed limit and then blows thru stop signs, all this while I was on speakerphone with the boss. But wait it gets better, when we get the vehicle back the door jams and interior floor carpets show evidence of where the technician did not place protective covering on the floor nor did he attempt to clean up his mess. Wait it gets better. These issues were brought to the attention of mgt and guess what, they rested on their morals and allowed these transgressions to go unrectified. Not even an apology much less a thank you for your continued business. Oh well, this is why Toyota of Killeen is a no for me. I know better therefore I do better. They are not the right dealership for me or my family. In the words of the former governor of California, to Toyota of Killeen I say Hasta Lavista Baby! Oh I left out the part where the drive closed the door on me twice while I was entering the vehicle. More

Although assisting many other customers simultaneously, Mr. Todd confirmed all needed repair parts were on-hand, initiated and relayed multiple progress updates thru-out from the repairing technician in whom he expressed the utmost confidence and also, personally ensured this customer had a ride home from and back to the dealership. As a direct result of Mr. Todd's diligence and skillfulness, 1) the engine's water leak was repaired and now runs even smoother, 2) completed the trip to Austin w/o delaying and 3) was provided courtesy transportation during repairs. Mr. Todd deserves commendation for his dedication to excellence. He is what "right" looks like. Please extend to him every consideration for time-off and cash awards that clearly communicate he is appreciated. More
Mr. Todd Provides Excellent Customer Service Had the family’s 2 Toyotas serviced recently at Toyota of Killeen and had the pleasure of working with Mr. Todd. Although he was obviously busy with Had the family’s 2 Toyotas serviced recently at Toyota of Killeen and had the pleasure of working with Mr. Todd. Although he was obviously busy with many others, he had our 2 vehicles in-and-out in less than an hour. At the time of drop off, in addition to the periodic servicing, asked him to inspect closely one of the vehicles to identify possible problem areas and any preventive maintenance items that might need attention before taking it on an extended road trip planned in 2019. When picking up the vehicles, Mr. Todd conscientiously delineated problem areas found during vehicle servicing that, although not urgent, would need addressing before the planned road trip at the current rate of wear. Additionally, having worked with Mr. Todd before, he remembered what was important to this specifically customer and insured their accomplishment. Mr. Todd deserves commendation and every consideration for time-off and cash awards, to ensure he knows he is appreciated and as incentive for him to remain there at Toyota of Killeen for many more years to come.
