Dear Mr. Radek, Volvo of Lisle participates in the DealerRater Certified Dealer Program. We are committed to providing high quality customer service, but based on your DealerRater review, you did not share that experience. That is very disappointing to us, and through this program we have the opportunity to work with you to resolve any issues with your experience at Volvo of Lisle. It was by no means our intention to upset you or cause any issues when you came in for your oil change. We are giving you the benefit of the doubt and taking full responsibility for the damage done to your XM radio wire, even though we are unsure of its’ state upon arrival at our dealership. In attempt to exceed your expectations, the Service Manager, Randy Hahn approved for us to give you a store credit in excess of the dollar value related to the broken wire. Since you found this alternative unsatisfactory, we are refunding you the cost of the part. Based on our conversation, it my understanding that the damaged XM radio wire was easily installed by you, and does not require professional installation. If I am mistaken, and you need our assistance in the installation of this wire, please let us know and we will be happy to help you. Once again, we sincerely apologize about your recent service visit and hope you have a better experience with us in the future. Sincerely, Tim Whitefleet Volvo of Lisle --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Mr. Kottapalli, Volvo of Lisle participates in the DealerRater.com Certified Dealer Program. We are committed to providing high quality customer service, but based on your DealerRater.com review, you did not share that experience. That is very disappointing to us, and through this program we have the opportunity to work with you to resolve any issues with your experience at Volvo of Lisle. We are very sorry you feel you have been cheated. We are very competitve with our pricing and we regularly perform surveys of other dealers to make sure. In addition, we honor all competitors written estimates or coupons. If you had the extended warranty repair done at Volvo of Lisle, the price would have been the same as it was elsewhere. Our Technicians are Volvo trained, are ASE certified, and are very good at what they do. We did diagnose your concern, but you decided to have the work done elsewhere. Hopefully we can regain your confidence in us, and look forward to servicing your vehicle in the future. Sincerely, John Korallus Volvo of Lisle Randy Hahn Service Director

Tom_D222 2/24/2010 Sorry to hear of your unpleasant experience at Volvo of Lisle. I am glad that your issue with our Service department was resolved. Since I am unaware of what issues you may have had, it is difficult for me to respond. I see you tried to contact the Sales Manager and General Manager. Ultimately I am responsible for any issues in the Service department, so in the future please contact me directly and I can work with you to address any concerns you may have. I would like to address the other issues you mention in your complaint: 1. “Ridiculous XXX-mile packages” – All of our Service Maintenance “packages” are taken directly from Volvo Cars of North America’s recommended maintenance intervals. We follow these instruction lists as Volvo has recommended, no more, no less. If items are removed from the package, the price does not go up, so I am not sure of what you mean exactly. 2. “Part of the package will make a car person break out laughing” - Again the packages are designed by the manufacturer, and we follow their recommendations. 3. Regarding synthetic oil. Synthetic oil does add to the cost of the package. I am unaware of any other dealers not charging extra for synthetic oil. We do honor other competitors coupons, so please feel free to bring them with you if service your vehicle with us in the future. 4. Regarding software upgrades. Software upgrades are not “free”. We pay for software anytime we download an upgrade to a vehicle. If the vehicle is in warranty, we are able to download software upgrades at no charge to the customer. Software is continually being improved by the manufacturer, and just like when Microsoft comes out with a newer version of Windows, there is a charge to upgrade. Downloads can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour depending on the type of download. Again, I am unaware of dealers performing software downloads at no charge when the customer’s vehicle is out of warranty. A service bulletin does not imply “free”, it is simply a new repair procedure provided by the manufacturer to assist dealers in repairing vehicles. If the vehicle is in warranty, the bulletin can be performed at no charge to the customer. Service lights are reset at no charge if you are performing a “full service”. In conclusion, we are a “family oriented” business that has been servicing Volvo customers for over 35 years. We continually strive for excellence, and are very sorry for any issues you have had with us. Hopefully I have addressed your concerns, and we look forward to servicing your vehicle in the future. Sincerely, Randy Hahn Service Director Volvo of Lisle
