Maintenance I had them perform a routine maintence, that of replacing the timing belt and water pump. When I started to drive away I noticed an engine vibration I had them perform a routine maintence, that of replacing the timing belt and water pump. When I started to drive away I noticed an engine vibration that was not there before. Initially they were hesitant to to believe that it had anything to do with the worked they performed. There upon I agreed to drive it home in hopes that it was possibly a motor mount issue that would resolve itself. The next day I called the service consultant and he suggested that I bring it back for evaluation. They rechecked the timing and several other possible causes but to no avail. The vibration still persisted. And I was told that the worked performed was correct. So the tech asked me what I wanted them to do. I said please fix it. They then gave me a loaner car to return home. They called later saying basically they did all they could. But the vibration was still there!!! I assumed I would be picking up my car and just living with the vibration waiting for some future engine failure. But to my surprise I discovered that they believed my protests that the vibration was not there before. They reperformed the entire procedure and discovered the cause and corrected it. No more vibration. My faith in the adage the "customer is right" has been renewed. Those at Zimmerman Honda from the personal attention by the service consultant, mechanics even the owner himself made great effort to correct the problem. Zimmerman Honda has won my trust and great admiration! I would recommend them to anyone. Paul S From Kewanee Illinois More

bad tire wear I bought my 2009 Honda CRV in Sept 2012. I had terrible tire noise and finally after a lot of complaining, the dealer did put a different set of ti I bought my 2009 Honda CRV in Sept 2012. I had terrible tire noise and finally after a lot of complaining, the dealer did put a different set of tires on the car. They put the Bridgestone tire that was the same as original factory equipment. This helped the tire noise for a short time. I returned to the service department and were told it was the nature of the tire. The tire wear continually got worse and the tire noise was deafening. I had a year warranty and just before the year was over in August of 2013, we returend tot he service department complaining again about the tire noise & wear. I was blamed for the problem because I had not rotated the tires. I know all about rotating tires and at this point had not rotated on purpose so that I did not ruin all four tires. At least it was only the back tires that were bad. Just this week, I finally decied to put on new tires and took my car to the Firestone/Bridgestone tire dealer. I told him of the issues and told him to be sure the alignment was correct so that the new set of tires would wear properly. There was a defective part on my CRV, the tire dealer had to replace the rear adjust arm. The front tires had worn just like they were designed to. The back tires had terrible uneven wear. If the service manager at Zimmerman Honda would have taken the time to actually look at my Honda CRV, instead of just saying the tires were suppose to be noisy and then saying it was because of my lack of tire rotation, I would still be driving with the same tires and would not have had to spend $916 out of my pocket. The part replaced by the tire dealer, should have been replaced by Zimmerman Honda and under the warranty I had. Short version, do NOT trust the Zimmerman Honda service department and do not wait too long like I did. More

Gus did a great job and I would recommend anyone to go see him for their new car! My 2007 Odyssey has been a dependable vehicle since I purchased it new at Zimmerman’s with Ruth Sanders. Zimmerman’s performed all the maintenance and always contacted me if additional work might be req purchased it new at Zimmerman’s with Ruth Sanders. Zimmerman’s performed all the maintenance and always contacted me if additional work might be required. On one of my last visits, I fully expected to need tires based on the number of miles I had on them. The service representative quickly pulled up the vehicle check in sheet and told me how much tread was remaining on all tires and their conditions. Based on my pre-purchase homework, I didn’t expect any major engine or drive train problems. Without warning, the engine started running rough. I took my van into Zimmerman’s Service Dept. to check out the problem. I spoke to AJ Castor and explained the problem. AJ kept me up to date on the progress of determining the problem with daily phone calls. It was later determined that an internal mechanical failure had contributed to damage that required a new engine. My warranty had expired and I was faced with 2 very expensive options. This was not a mechanical issue they usually see and I couldn’t find any indication on the internet of Honda engine failures. Just within my immediate neighbors, we have 3 Odysseys, 2 Pilots and 2 Accords and a CRV so I know Honda is a dependable vehicle. I asked AJ if they could try running it past the next level of Honda which turned out to be a District Honda Rep. Not knowing the process, I may have panicked a little and contacted Ruth hoping she could act as an advocate for me in the process. Ruth contacted me right away and verified things were being processed. When it was referred to the district person, I really expected a lot of red tape. It didn’t happen. A happy AJ called me and explained a very generous offer from Honda for a new engine. I didn’t have to fight, argue, provide maintenance records or the like. Just a very nice offer waiting for my approval. A verbal approval over the phone and before I knew it, I was picking up my freshly washed Odyssey with a new engine and extended warranty. It was really a painless experience considering the initial diagnosis of major engine failure. Daily updates from AJ and hand holding from Ruth helped me realize that “Great Customer Service” does still exist. I need to put a few more miles on the van but when it’s time for a replacement, I know where I can get Great Service. I'll be back at Zimmerman's. More

Bought a 2009 certified honda crv. The day of the sale was great. Now today, 6 days after the initial sale, took the car in for service. At time of purchase, noticed a noise which sounded like a tire. Giv was great. Now today, 6 days after the initial sale, took the car in for service. At time of purchase, noticed a noise which sounded like a tire. Given an iou/promise for service. Was told they would do whatever it would take to fix the noise and make the purchase a happy one. That did NOT happen. Today, they said the noise is normal to a honda. If I was told that the day of purchase, I would have walked away & ; not purchased the vehicle. They claim the tires were put on new when taken in on trade. That is the reason the dealer gives that it can't be the tires causing the noise. What happened to the iou/promise to make me happy? The dealer would not even satisfy me by putting on new tires. Have they never heard of it being possible for a new tire being bad? I'm not happy and the dealer doesn't care. The salesman was great the day of purchase, but follow up of promises given that day were not kept. Thanks to my salesman, this purchase has become a good experience. Today I took my Honda back a 2nd time for service. They did as I asked & put a new set of tires on. They put a different brand; the noise is gone & the vibration in the steering wheel is gone. Thanks to my salesman this has become a good experience. As long as my salesman is there, I will return to Zimmerman Honda with my business. More
