I took my 2023 Sorento Hybrid in because of a clicking - mambrose2508
I took my 2023 Sorento Hybrid in because of a clicking sound when turning my steering wheel. The service department said I needed an entirely new steering column. After waiting 5 weeks for the part I had the new steering column installed which failed to resolve the problem. They kept the vehicle overnight for further evaluation and found 2 loose bolts. Once tightened the clicking stopped. I never needed a new steering column. To make matters worse someone broke my windshield while it was there for service. When I pointed this out to the service manager he said the service tech noted the chip was there when I brought the car in. My dash cam showed no chip or crack when I dropped it off or when they moved the car in and out for service. Furthermore the multipoint inspection did not indicate a cracked or chipped windshield. They noted that my wiper blades needed replacing, but nothing about a cracked or chipped windshield. Strangely there was no dash cam recordings for the day they actually discovered the problem was just 2 loose bolts. Either they disconnected my dash cam when they serviced it the second day or the videos were erased. Possibly because it recorded something breaking my windshield? I have no proof either way. All I know is there are no recordings for the second day of service. The windshield was not chipped or cracked when I brought the car in and it was cracked when I picked it up. And I had an entirely new steering column installed which was completely unnecessary. The service manager never took any responsibility for the cracked windshield. I'm having that replaced at my expense. This service center has lost my business forever.
