When I started doing business with Houston Chevy of Avon Park, Fl. everything was great.
I went for oil changes, tire rotations, and basic items that were preformed flawlessly, then came the day that I needed to have some real work done on the car.
Well I presented the extended warrenty to the service writter. Well as it happens, the dealers don't really like doing those so I wait for them to get back to me as to the status, well I don't hear anything so Icall the dealer. I speak to the writter and I get the excuse that they called and are witing to hear back.
Well because I used to be in the auto repair business and I do remember how the warrenty process works, I call the warrenty company and guess what, the dealer never called. Two days later I go back to the dealer and while Im standing there the writter calls in and magicly they get in contact with the warrenty company.
Of course the warrenty comapny declines as normal. I call the warrenty company and go into a better explanation of what the cause of the problem truly is and they reopen the case, they just need the dealer to call it in and six days later that never happens.
So I go to the dealer today and the writter is magicly on her half hour lunch that she is now into for an hour and she doesn't return. Well I really know that the writter doesnt want to face me and have to lie to me anymore so it gets dumped on the other writter.
No all of sudden there is a charge that I was not told about and refuse to pay it. Well that writter and I come to an agreement on that suprise charge ( i could have legally refused it, but rather then put him through that I agreed to pay a portion of the charge. I really felt bad for him that a co-worker would put him in that position.
Anyway, I will say this, if you go to HOuston for basic service, your ok but if you have an extended warrenty stay away and find an honest dealer that will tell you to your face that they don't really like doing 3 party warrenties.
Had they have done that with me I would have thanked them and found a different dealer and I wouldn't have wasted a month of my time waiting on something that was never done and I was lied to.
Shame on that writter and we both know who you are honey as you like to call your customers!
