I have done bissness with Shields for years, but this is my first time In buying a truck from them. Rich Heintz helped me in the persuite of findind my dream truck and getting the best monthly payment possible. Both Rich Heintz and Rick Ingold showed me around the place and introduced me to every body that will be there to help me out with what ever I need. I would never have found my truck or even understood all of the ins and outs of my new truck without the learned help of Rich. Rich made everthing possible for this sale to happen including workiing on his day off to get my new ready for deleavery. Thankyou Rich for everything!

We were visiting the Crawford County Humane Society in Robinson Il. While we were there, our tire pressure monitor light went on. My husband found a nail in one of the tires, and the tire pressure was 22psi. We went to Silverthorne Ford to see if they could help us. These people could not have been nicer. They were going to patch the tire, but Geoffrey discovered some large cracks on the inside of the tire. We were shocked since we had just had our tires rotated by our mechanic, and he never said anything. Jordan was surprised the tire hadn't blown. It could have been a bad accident if the tire had blown while we were driving at highway speeds. Even though the mechanics were busy, they took the time to replace the damaged tire. Geoffrey inspected the other 3 tires, and the other 3 were beginning to get cracks in them as well. This is a Ford dealer and we have a Toyota, so it was really nice they were willing to help us instead of sending us elsewhere. We live in Minnesota and we're on our way back. We forgot to take pictures of the tire to show our mechanic. Makayla was nice enough to send us some photos. We were just so amazed at the kindness and customer service we were provided by everyone at the dealership. Jordan, Geoffrey, Makayla, and Bailey really stood out. Bailey spent a lot of time showing my husband the owner's Hellcat he was detailing while we waited. We couldn't have been happier with the service everyone provided. We would highly recommend you take your vehicle there if you need any service.

One time visit while traveling through Chicago - Steve

In October my wife and I were traveling from the West Coast to the East Coast on a month-long trip. While visiting Chicago on a rainy day my windshield wipers stopped operating. I've had this Dodge vehicle for 23 years and experienced this problem before. A plastic bushing needed to be replaced. I carry extra bushings with me just in case of this problem. I stopped into this dealership and spoke with Dave Schoenhofen (service advisor) for help. He came out to my vehicle, saw my problem, replaced the bushing, and within 15 minutes and at no charge to me had me on my way. I think how he handled my situation needed to be commented on since what he did is what makes a good service center and brings customers back. STEVE P.

I'll tell you what, I was in dire need of a vehicle late in the work day. Both Brandon and Nick stayed late in the evening to ensure that I left that with the right solution. Never once did I see them lose patience no matter how confusing or demanding I was acting. Their outstanding customer service made me feel comfortable of going forward and buying the car! Friendly, prompt on appointments. The waiting room could use some updates however. The vending machine was not stocked well. I didn't want to buy a drink anyway. There was no food options that l could see. The first chair I attempted to sit in was broken. Thankfully a gentleman already seated told me before I sat all the way down. I pushed it aside & sat in another seat.

As a woman, I am always afraid that my lack of automotive knowledge might be exploited. Definitely NOT THE CASE here. Chris and Tarek worked to find me the best value in the service and sales departments respectively. Eddie in finance was also extremely personable and kind. I will be a loyal customer of Honda of Joliet for many years!

The management at Toyota of Fox Lake needs to know what a valuable resource they have in Timothy Delord. I made a random call to the dealership about a rusted out frame on my 2004 Toyota Tacoma. Despite what task I may have taken him away from, Timothy showed a level of professionalism and patience that I have not encountered in over 50 years of car ownership. In this age of negative connotations regarding car dealership personnel, the level of satisfaction in my experience with Timothy Delord must be acknowledged by dealership management. If you are looking for a service department that truly cares about its customers and does exceptional work, this IS the place to go. While there are several locations nearby where I can get my VW Beetle serviced, I choose to drive an hour to Marion, Illinois because of the quality of service, kind staff, and knowledgeable technicians. My Beetle is my baby, and this service department treats her as such, even going as far as remembering my car’s name, Stella. The folks at Volkswagen of Marion always do an excellent job but it was my visit in April 2023 when the team showed me just how exceptional their service can be, especially Brian Evans and Rich Lewis. They stayed in contact with me while their technicians team spent several days pinpointing what was wrong with my car. My biggest concern was having some form of transportation during this time. Well, they quickly squashed that concern by giving me a vehicle to drive while mine was in the shop. When my Beetle was fixed, they brought it back to me looking brand new inside and out with gas in the tank. As a woman, dealerships and service departments can be intimidating. Historically, the automotive industry has been male-dominated, and as a result, women are sometimes stereotyped as not knowing much about cars. Luckily, it’s not like that at the Volkswagen of Marion service department. If I could, I’d give the service department at Volkswagen of Marion way more than a five-star rating as they continue to exceed my expectations.

I had such a great experience calling in for some assistance. I spoke with a woman by the name Jeismarie who was very helpful and overall just patient and friendly. I was considering shopping for my first car and had a few in mind along with several questions this being my first experience. Jeismarie was very personable and attentive over the phone, its hard to show personality through just the sound of your voice. She was great help, will be going in later this week to browse.
