Anderson of Hunt Valley - Hunt Valley, MD

The parts department was excellent when they were Saab of Hunt Valley but has gone down hill since the became Anderson of Hunt Valley. The service department has always been horrible.
I brought a Saab 900 there to check inside the transmission since I had checked the fluid, linkage etc. I new the bands were slipping. Keving told me to bring it in. Went to pick it up and the service ticket read "we do not do internal diagnostics" which is exactly what I told them when I called. The dealer manager refunded my money. Kevin called me back the next day to bitch at me about how they work on commission.

I brought in a Saab 9000. They told me it had a blown head gasket (it didn't).

I brought in a Saab 9-5. They replaced the O2 sensor twice. Found out later that it was the exhaust that was the problem. My independant mechanic figured it out in 5 mins.

I brought in the same car to have them fix the A/C. $1100 dollars later they can't figure it out. I fixed it myself. How? I checked the Saab factory manual which told me how to troubleshoot the electrical problem. They were doing it wrong because they didn't even check their own manual. Come to find out if was a $90 pressure switch. They tried to tell me the ACC computer module was bad. (it wasn't but I replaced it anyway) and had them reprogram it. They also wanted to charge me $3700 to replace the air box (opens and closes doors in the car to direct air)
me:why does it need to replace the air box?
them:the computer is throwing codes that say it's bad
me:the same computer that you said was bad?
them:I've been working on Saabs for 10 years
me:I've been working on computers for 20 sparky, when a computer part is bad you can't trust the error codes it's giving you......

You know was was wrong with the air box? Nothing...the shaft has slipped out of the blend door arm. Had the arm broken a new one was $26. You take off a panel, move the carpet out of the way, take off a motor and replace the arm. It can be done in 45 mins. They wanted $3700 to replace the who box. Thieves.....not only that, do you know what the other Saab dealers charge for that? $1500. I called about 2 dozen and that was the average price........

This is only a few of a dozen incidences like this...

I had an good experience initially purchasing my used vehicle. Of course they were going to be as nice as possible to make the sale. They told me to call with any questions and they would gladly answer them! As soon as I asked the question, I was literally screamed at for a solid 10 minutes by the Manager of Finance, Mike Lyle. I was told I was questioning $100 and was being ridiculous and crazy. I asked him to stop attacking me and he screamed at me "I resent that!" He was threatening, and I honestly felt like an abused girlfriend! He said, I should be glad the conversation lasted as long as it did. I said, "I felt you were ready to hang up on me any minute." I told him I worked in customer service and I have never acted this way to a customer and do not find it appropriate. He then stated, "Since you work in customer service, let me ask you..have you ever had a bad day??" I didn't even know what to say! I started crying hysterically and he told me there was no reason for me to be crying. Can you believe it??? Basically, let someone tear you down and make you feel as small as possible...but there is no need to get upset!! I will never recommend Bob Bell to anyone and tell everyone exactly the emotional abuse I went through buying something that cost me half of what I make in a year and should have made me happy. Now, I feel the car is tainted and I will never be able to enjoy it! Mike Lyle is a horrible human being and should never be allowed to have any position in the customer service business and as far as I am concerned, his temper will end his career and he will probably end up in prison because he will take it too far!!!
