Our saga begins about 3 weeks ago when we arrived to Galen Boyer, Independence to look at a few different vehicles that we had researched and found appealing - one of which, the Pontiac G6, we liked the car and decided it was the best fit for our needs. We were going to trade in a "clunker" so we asked the dealership for information about the program. Granted we stumbled across the program while doing the research online for the vehicles - it was not being advertised at the time. The dealership said they can't do the transaction until 7/24 but still gave us a list of paperwork we should bring to qualify for the program (ps you get $$ from the scrap also, but don’t expect the dealership to tell you that!). We returned 3 days later [Tuesday 7/21] with all the paperwork they, both the sales person and the manager, Dan Boyer, reviewed the paperwork took copies and assured us that we had everything that we needed and we could come back Tuesday 7/28 to "just sign the loan, and take the car", in addition we were promised a return call the following day [Wednesday 7/22] with the loan interest rate...Saturday [7/25] rolled around and we still had not received the promised call with the rate. We called around 10am to inquire and received an "I'm sorry, I'll call you right back with the rate"...after radio silence we called again at 4:30pm and received a "we've been swamped, sorry" an hour later we FINALLY got the call back with the rate. We showed up to the dealership on Tuesday 7/28 to finalize the transaction, and sat down with the manager, Dan Boyer (who had decided to sport his grumpy pants that day). He took a look at THE SAME PAPERWORK and snapped at us (VERY RUDELY) that the 2 insurance slips that we gave didn't cover a full 12 months back, and that the registration we brought (the original car registration) was not what he needed, he needed the latest registration...mind you we have not executed a sneaky switecheroo of any sort, he even went back to look at the copies and realized it was the same paperwork we brought in last week. I then got on the phone with the insurance company, and my girlfriend went to try and find the registration all the while having to endure the manager, Dan Boyer, obnoxiously arguing and pointing blame at her as she was trying to walk out the door to go back to the house to grab the other required documentation, in order to get the proper info I stayed on hold for about an hour, in that hour we also realized that they neglected to add the sales tax to the loan amount as we had originally requested several times, we asked it to be added but it was “too late” in the day and they told us it can only be done tomorrow...all the while they were trying to ‘get rid of us’ by using the line "let me show you more things about the car", unless it had a secret button that made it fly, we have already covered all that there was to cover in our previous visits so we decided to decline that offer...with our growing aggravation and the dealership’s impatient attitude, they told us to take the car home and come back tomorrow with the registration.
I am appalled by the customer service (or lack thereof) provided by a commission based job. This has been the worst car buying experience and the most vulgar behavior by a manager I have ever encountered. I would NOT recommend this dealership to anyone that is trying to buy a car...go somewhere else, I promise you'll get better service!

The one time that my husband had a dead battery and had to leave for the airport in 45 minutes on a Monday morning. I called them up and spoke with David Widdicombe and he was able to get the job done for me. He could have very easily told me he had other cars ahead of me...he saved me a lot of time and headaches that morning.
There are too many other good qualities such as when waiting in their waiting room, which I actually enjoy doing, I have only heard 1 person state that they had to bring a vehicle back for the same repair in the 15 years I have been going there. They have never tried to talk me into something I didn't need.
I refer all of my friends there because of the service department. You only have to deal with the sales person once, but the service department for the rest of the time you own the vehicle. They really take good care of their customers.
