Interesting visit, service writer Sean did a good job on - gdsot
Interesting visit, service writer Sean did a good job on the visit. It started odd as he questioned my coupon that had been sent to me by the dealership via email for a $49.95 oil change. While I found his questions kind of odd, he eventually told me that they had been duped by an AI coupon that was created for a $14.95 oil change and the service manager had put the service team on notice to be on the lookout for these scams. After he let me know the situation I better understood his questions and he did honor the coupon. We had a good conversation about AI and scams, it's too bad the dealership has to deal with this kind of scam. When the service was complete, he let me know there were a couple of additional items that I should put on my service list, I appreciated that he did not pressure me but was honest about the timing for these additional services and gave me a reasonable time frame to get them completed.
After I picked up my vehicle, I always double check for leaks, it's the engineer in me. I noticed that the GMC dealership used a standard STP oil filters and not the AC Delco which was a little surprising to me. I know both filters are made by Champion but I would have felt more comfortable with the AC Delco filter and assumed that's what would have been used at a dealership. Maybe the STP is a better filter but still a bit of a surprise. All in all I will return for any further service, but might bring my own filter in the future:)
