Exactly what a dealer should be. After a terrible experience at Maserati of Bergen County, came here to look at a very comparable car. It was a new arrival so was not on-site when I arrived as it was finishing up at their service center close by. While it finished at the center, Thomas helped work through the numbers.
It was a very simple process. The price I saw online before coming in was the price I received at the dealer. The only additional cost outside of mandatory taxes and registration costs was a 799 doc fee which is standard for dealers in the area and a fee I expected to pay. Before the car even arrived, I was at a comfortable price point without the need to negotiate.
Once the car arrived we took a quick test drive and found the car to be great outside of a faulty sunroof control. When back inside, Thomas flagged the issue with the service team. They confirmed all the work they had done and presented the $1500 itemized work order for it. The work done on the car including new brake pads, an oil change and some minor safety fixes above what is required by NJ law. They were still waiting on the part for the sunroof control which is why the car was at the service center when I first arrived. They were very upfront about this and did not charge any extra for the repairs they had done as they were already all included in the sales price.
After running my credit, my monthly payment was even lower than the initial quote I had been give. I was able land where I was hoping without even needing to negotiate. While I may have been able to negotiate down a little, after the experience I had at Maserati of Bergen earlier in the day, I was happy to sign at the list value of the car and avoid the back and forth.
Everything through the process was so transparent and clear. At no point did I feel like there were questions I had to ask or information the dealer was not being forthcoming coming about. There were a few long waits between fetching the car from the offsite lot and a back up waiting for the financing department but on a busy holiday Monday, there is only so much they can do to keep up with the rush.
I drove off the lot in the car the same day with a signed we owe doc for the sun roof control which they’ll repair as soon as they have the part. A perfect dealership experience.
