I was in desperate need for a car. I knew I wanted a BMW because I owned one before and enjoyed the performance. I met Ron Askew previously when I stopped by the dealership in October. I wanted to just look around, and Ron saw me and answered some of my questions. Ron is friendly, knowledgeable and an excellent listener. I wanted to purchase an SUV but wasn't able to and Ron and his manager worked together to make me happy. I purchased a beautiful 4-door sedan. I was very impressed with his patience with me. Such a relief! I appreciate all of his efforts to put me in a BMW. In addition, the finance manager, Ricky Gulati was very knowledgeable, friendly, detailed, and an excellent listener. When I had a question, he explained the answer in a way I could understand. Made my finance experience comfortable. Amit Thanki was a joy to talk! There are so many bells and whistles to my car and Amit talked me thru the different ways of using the bells and whistles. Amit made me feel comfortable about asking questions and he addressed all of my concerns. He definitely has a lot of patience, and I appreciated his help. Last but never least, the receptionist, Lisa. She is the first person I saw when walking in the dealership. Lisa meets you with a smile. She is very pleasant, and attentive, making sure I had what I needed, pointing me to where I should go in the dealership and also a nice person to talk to while waiting for the decision-making on my car. I recently completed my “BMW Encore” Deep Dive Session with Product Specialist Amit Thanki, affectionately referred to around BMW of Silver Spring as “The BMW Genius”. I must say that with such a tag lin with Product Specialist Amit Thanki, affectionately referred to around BMW of Silver Spring as “The BMW Genius”. I must say that with such a tag line, I was skeptical, expecting a brief overview of the Owner’s Manual, and a lead-in to the various service “add-ons” offered by the dealership. Calling that a misconception would be a gross understatement! What I found instead, was a very soft-spoken, patient, caring, and passionate individual proud of his long association with the BMW heritage. We spoke for quite some time, as he walked me through not only the intricacies of the car’s on-board technology, but also in-depth discussions of the car’s mechanical capabilities, technical specifications and performance options, clearly showcasing his life-long passion and experience with the brand’s heritage. But Amit wasn’t finished. He proceeded to fine-tune my Climate Control, Camera arrays, and even balanced my sound system! I brought a list of questions with me to the session, and he managed to address each one and many more before I was able to take the list from my pocket. He was willing to give me as much time as I required until I felt comfortable driving the car, and gave me his card along with an invitation to call or text anytime I needed additional help. I left the BMW of Silver Spring lot, considerably more confident and thrilled with my new car, I was also very relieved to know that help was but a phone call away. Thanks so much Amit, and thanks so much to the Management Team of BMW of Silver Spring for recognizing the value derived from having Amit on your team, and for offering him to your customers. My husband and I recently leased 2 electric vehicles from this dealership, seeing as we went electric, we set up a Level 2 charger in our garage. We noticed that the cars would charge really slow because it this dealership, seeing as we went electric, we set up a Level 2 charger in our garage. We noticed that the cars would charge really slow because it automatically limited the charge level to 6A. We tried our best to trouble shoot this to no avail, for a whole week. We then reached out to Mr Amit Thanki, the product specialist, explained the issue, he asked for some photos and videos. He quickly realised (via a phone call might I add ) that the issue was the level 2 charger was not set up correctly. He gave us one simple step to follow, we did that and all our issues were sorted. We had been dealing with this issue for a over a week before I called Amit, if only we had called sooner. I say this to say, I truly felt like he cared about the product , cared about how we felt about the product and our overall experience, he would not stop till we had a resolution to the problem! Did I add that he helped us over the weekend, after work hours, on the phone! Truly next level service, we are two happy customers! More
