The dealership lost the 2nd smart key for my 2025 Santa Fe which I purchased on 12-1-24. After numerous calls by me (which were not returned) the key was finally ordered from Hyundai on 12-11-24. I have left a message for Jake McNeely several times to resolve this and he has yet to call me back. There just does not seem to be an accountability at Universal Hyundai to upright this problem. I am beyond frustrated and incredibly disappointed after what should have been a dream turned into a nightmare. After three weeks of driving my brand-new 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe, we received a letter from the what should have been a dream turned into a nightmare. After three weeks of driving my brand-new 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe, we received a letter from the motor vehicle department informing us that my wife’s driver’s license had been suspended. Why? Because there was an incorrect VIN number on the vehicle. This mistake has completely upended our lives. We immediately went to Universal Hyundai, hoping they could help us resolve the issue, but the experience was nothing short of horrendous. We waited for a long time just to get any help, and when we did finally speak with someone, it was from the finance department—who, frankly, couldn’t care less about fixing the problem. It’s as if once the vehicle is sold, they wash their hands of it and couldn’t care less about the consequences the customer faces. I had to practically beg for them to address the situation, which caused so much stress for my wife. She was terrified—what if she had been stopped by the police? What if she had ended up in jail because of their mistake? We’ve lost precious time, my wife lost days of work, and it felt like no one at Universal Hyundai cared to help. The treatment we received was appalling. I spoke with one of the "big managers," and frankly, he didn’t care about our problem at all. It was clear that they have no interest in standing behind their customers once they’ve made the sale. I’m livid that a simple mistake has cost us so much, and I’m disgusted by the total lack of accountability or concern from Universal Hyundai. I would never, EVER recommend doing business with them. They don’t deserve my time, my money, or my trust. Please, if you’re considering buying a car from them, make absolutely sure everything is in order because in my experience, once you drive off the lot, you’re on your own—and they don’t care. This situation should not have happened, and they should be held accountable for what they’ve put my family through. More
