Car Needs Thousands in Work Done I live in Woodbury. I drove out to Ryan Auto Mall on the recommendation of a family member after seeing a car on their website that I liked. I purch I live in Woodbury. I drove out to Ryan Auto Mall on the recommendation of a family member after seeing a car on their website that I liked. I purchased a used car from the budget lot. Going in, I knew the car had a lot of miles and expected that the car might need some updates. Two weeks from the day I purchased it, I had already needed to jump it twice. After going to a mechanic to have it serviced, I was told the brand-new battery that was in the car was defective and that it needed to be replaced (which stumped the mechanic). They also told me that as soon as they got in the car, they could hear a noise that indicated that my water pump was leaking (a $600 repair). I replaced the battery for $200, with the intention of having the water pump fixed later in the month. When I purchased the car, I noticed that the radio didn't come on every time (which wasn't a big deal, I could have it fixed later). A week after getting a new battery, I went to start the car and it was completely dead again. I brought it back to the mechanic that replaced the battery for me - this time they told me that the faulty radio was draining my battery, so I brought the car to my local Chevy dealership. The Chevy dealership service told me that not only does this car need a water pump, it needs a new radio ($900 manufacture replacement, and until then the fuse has to be removed so that the car won't die again), a new alternator ($550), and radio updates ($150). Ryan Auto had to have known about some of these issues. The car they promised me would last me through college and possibly beyond lasted 2 weeks. It's not even drivable! Both my mechanic and local Chevy dealership noticed the sound of the water pump right away - how could Ryan Auto miss it!? This leaking water pump could ruin the car's engine if left alone. This isn't "safe, affordable vehicle at a fair price" this is a car that needs thousands of dollars worth of repairs just to function properly, I could understand a few things that might not hinder with the car's ability to get from point a to point B, but this is vehicle is unreliable and unsafe. More
