My experience was less than great because of some of the interactions with Mitch Levy. One main reason I use BMW is b/c I’ve always found them to be very professional. I felt that Mitch was too pushy and dismissive if my concerns. Many months before leasing my new car, I visited the dealer because my current lease was ending in Jan. 2024. They assigned Mitch to me as a salesperson who told me that for timing it right I should order the car in October. Mitch called in early Dec. to say the new car was in early and just directed me to come pick it up. He made no acknowledgment of my lease ending in January. I reminded him again I had my current car for another month and wasn’t willing to pay the last car payment on that and a new car payment for the same month. I said I’m pick up the car in January. Mitch got a little agitated and said they couldn’t do that b/c then the dealer would have to take on the cost of holding the car for that time. (Why is that my problem?Is the dealer’s expense more important than the customer’s expense and experience?) He then said they’d have to sell my new car and order a new one. I felt that was a manipulative move to pressure me to take the car in December and a subtle threat that I’d now have to wait several months for a new car and, thus, be without a car in the interim. Nevertheless, I told him to look into that. He then suggested maybe they could buy my current car and sell it. He put me on hold to go talk with his manager and then that he came back and said the dealership would pick up the cost of my last month’s lease on the current car. Had I not pushed back on Mitch, I would have been stuck with two car payments. When I picked up my new car, I asked when I’d get the check for the car payment reimbursement. Mitch dismissively said, “don’t worry about it.” He said he had to put in paperwork for that. (Why hadn’t he done that already?) I waited a week and emailed him b/c I hadn’t gotten the check yet. Out of concern that I’d be dismissed again or maybe ignored, I also copied his manager on the email. Mitch promptly emailed back that he’d submitted the paperwork and was waiting for someone to sign the check. He sent me a photo of the check as assurance this step was complete. A final thing that I found pushy and annoying is that when Mitch needed to contact me, he would call my cell, my landline, and text me all in quick succession. I had to tell him to stop doing that, b/c I’m working during the day and on work calls. If I don’t pick up, I’d call back. I would go back to this dealership b/c of my overall belief that BMW dealers are generally more professional. But, I would ask for a different salesperson. I did not deal with Hasan Barakat. This dealer is the one I have been working with in the last 8 years. Most of the time, they didn't let me get upset. Not only was the interaction with Mitch good, the genius Troy was the most patient and knowledgeable genius I have ever had and I've leased many cars from this dealership over the years.
