Thankfully the GM of Danbury Hyundai has stepped in. Along with Hyundai corporate. We have our fingers crossed for a positive experience in making things right. My family and I are loyal Danbury Hyundai buyers as my mother and father in law purchased a 2020 Kona and a Palisades this year and I purchased a 2020 Sonata. Now my wife is in the market. We believe in Danbury Hyundai even after these fraudulent events. When you go drop off your car for service at a dealership after speaking in detail with Finance Manager Shamus Rahman of what you would want done. You trust and expect it to be handled honestly and your vehicle taken care of. I was unlucky and too trusting in working with Mike Barnett for leaving my keys and car with him inside the dealership. After being referred to him by Shamus Then Mike proceeded to use his own third party contacts to do repairs on my vehicle. Ask to meet at my bank for cash to "save me money", then return the vehicle to me back at the dealership days later posing that it was all done legitimately. If I had not researched and examined the flaws in workmanship, did my own personal footwork to reach out to who actually worked on my car. He may have gotten away with it. My response back to questions asked after the events was "be grateful for what I did for you" and yelling at my wife that "we will FU----- Get it fixed". And, "I was asked to do a service for you and I did". Where he pocketed the profit, drove my car on joy rides, provided a poor quality product. With the dealership having no knowledge of my new car even being there. Was all quite a stunning experience as a customer who simply reached out to my dealership where I bought the car. And dropped off with the dealership. We are thankful Danbury Hyundai executive management and corporate have now stepped in and we are hopeful will be making right, all that has gone so wrong. We believe they are a honest dealership with a bad egg. We will update the results after the car in completed, without working with management and corporate.
