Airport Honda

Never again! I took my 2001 Honda Accord in to have the brake master cylinder replaced. This was after an aftermarket brake master cylinder had been installed and I took my 2001 Honda Accord in to have the brake master cylinder replaced. This was after an aftermarket brake master cylinder had been installed and leaked out all the brake fluid. This is my experience with the service department... a relatively simple job. After the installation of the brake master cylinder I was called and told that my brake lines needed to be flushed (a $130), a service which I declined at the time. When I received a call saying that my car was ready to be picked up I was also told that the brake pedal still went down to the floor and that the brake booster was bad ($400) and needed to be replaced...which I declined at that time also ( which was a "recommended maintenance" that was put on the invoice). Once I arrived to pick up my car and evaluated the situation and personally knowing that the brake booster showed no signs of being bad with the pedal still going to the floor I carefully drove the car home. I then bleed the brake lines myself to remove the air from the lines (the reason the brake pedal went to the floor) and found that the brakes work as designed. It is MY OPINION that the service department is in the unethical practice to suggest maintenance that is not required or needed. I did share my experience with Honda Corporate with a response saying that this information would be used for future management training. I will drive 100 miles to find a Honda dealer before going back to Airport Honda for anything! More
