Mr. Sorter, When you notified us of the damage a month after purchase we asked for pictures and the estimate you had received. We took the photos and estimate to our collision center, we reached out to schedule an appointment to have the repairs done out our collision center that does warranty the repair for the lifetime ownership of the vehicle. When you had expressed you wanted to use the facility that provided the estimate we advised you that we would send you $995.80 which was our internal cost of the repair. No one was aware of any damage or how long it had been there, there was no malice at any point in the process. We provided a reasonable solution to repair it at our facility at no cost to you or if you chose a different facility we would issue a check in the amount the repair would cost us. you make a good argument for your side of this situation. I absolutely feel letting you control the repair would have led to your shop short cutting the fix. Case in point, the shop I used brought me in to show me more extensive damage to the roll pan as well as the rear pan (where the running board had obviously been pushed into the roll pan) And that brings us back to the original point, either you have a really poor inspection process or you knew about. What leads me to the latter is, my friend, who pointed the damage out, was a 20 year mechanic for Dick Hannah and was astonished to the point of laughter at the idea that could have possibly been missed. So you see, from my perspective, I couldn't let you have it fixed to your standards. This is the largest purchase in my life next to my house, I wanted fixed correctly. Thanks for the attempt at a satisfactory conclusion to our interaction. But I still think any attempt short of satisfying my requested would be short. I said in my original post, I missed the damage, the fix is on me. (Caviot emptor) you guys reached out to me to try and reach a fix and have me remove my original email from your websight. On that note, we did not reach a satisfactory conclusion.
