While the situation was stressful, I understood that the backorder and loaner availability were not really anyone’s fault. However, as the week went on, communication became increasingly limited. Since I live in a rural area where having a car is important, I was regularly calling to ask for updates and to see when a loaner might become available. Eventually, the dealership received the part and completed the repair, but I was not notified that the part had arrived or that work had begun. I was simply contacted to let me know my car was ready. I was thrilled to get my car back sooner than expected, but I was under the impression that this would be a several-week process because of the backordered part. I would have appreciated simply being kept informed when the situation changed. At pickup, I also wasn’t given much of a rundown of what work had been completed on my vehicle. Overall, the lack of communication toward the end of the process felt unusual and left me disappointed. The repair itself was covered under warranty, and I appreciate that the issue was ultimately resolved, but communication is a major part of the customer experience. Unfortunately, this experience has made me hesitant to return in the future. More
