Alex is great and the amount of care that went into the diagnostics was fantastic! She even got me a loaner because it was going to take longer. diagnostics was fantastic! She even got me a loaner because it was going to take longer. More
I went for a 150,000 mile checkup. I had to make the appointment at least a month ahead of time because apparently they are very busy. I arrived shortly before my appointment and they took my car right appointment at least a month ahead of time because apparently they are very busy. I arrived shortly before my appointment and they took my car right away. They said it would take maybe 3hrs. So I went to a local cafe and did work for 3hrs. They had texted me saying I could text them at such and such number during my service for questions. I did and they never texted me back. Finally after 3 hours had passed and I still hadn’t heard from them I called. No answer. I left a message and they never called back. Finally I went back since it had been more than 3 hours. They were sitting around joking. Not sure why they couldn’t pick up the phone when I called. They told me it wasn’t ready (it looked like they just got to it!) and would be another hour of so. I waited a total of 5.5 hours for this checkup. When I finally did get my car back, they gave me a checklist of things they did. They had checked everything off “good”, even my front headlights which was interesting, given that my front headlight was out. Clearly they had simply checked the green “good” without actually inspecting it. Which makes me wonder what else they didn’t do that I had paid for. I hope they at least changed my oil and topped off my fluids. But for 5.5 hours and $490 dollars, you’d think they should actually inspect what they say they will. More

I think by giving you just the facts of my story you will come to the conclusion not to buy a Hyundai and certainly not from Arapahoe Hyundai. My daughter is a school teacher and needed a dependable vehicle, so we looked around and found a used Santa Fe at Arapahoe that she could afford.it was 7 years old with 80k miles. Paying a premium to buy a used Hyundai from a Hyundai dealer seemed like a sound decision and these guys were great when selling the car. Even sold us a warranty that they said would cover anything they missed in their used car inspection and protect us from any major repairs. I read the warranty, but I am not a car guy, so I trusted that the finance guy selling me this warranty was being truthful. Paid $3,000 for it. Was very happy and even wrote them a 5 star review. A few months later, transmission issue, bad sensor, not covered under warranty. A year later having acceleration issues, took it in and told the pre-catalytic converter and catalytic converter needed replacement, $4,000+. Asked if it was covered by the warranty that would “protect us from major repairs”, not covered. Asked the service department who I could discuss this with and was told Bill the finance manager. Tried to get a hold of him for over a week, 2-3 calls a day, several voicemails, no response. Was even told by the operator once that he was with a guest, so called back an hour later and was told he wasn’t in that day. Finally went to pick up vehicle to take it across the street to the Jeep dealer to have them look at it. When I picked it up was told by the mechanic that the pre-cat had broken loose causing the cat converter to fail. When asked how this could happen, he couldn’t give me a reason. This vehicle is well maintained by my daughter a big investment for a single teacher, she takes good care of it, never been off paved roads. As stated, not a car guy, but I have owned several makes and models of vehicles which have had well over 100k miles never a cat converter issue. Currently have a Chevy truck almost 300k on it, cat converter is still fine. If you Google how long they should last, “the lifetime of the vehicle” Seems like a problem that the dealer and/or Hyundai America would want to take care of, but so far have not cared enough to respond to me. Was told when we purchased vehicle that it was the only dealer on Arapahoe that was locally owned and said the owner comes in and works every week, made me feel even more comfortable buying from them. Unfortunately, even the owner doesn’t know and/or care either. So up to you if you want to buy a car that doesn’t last as long as it should or a warranty from people who are untrustworthy, but I will never own another Hyundai and I will spend my money with people and dealers who have integrity. I would like to say my last couple of service visits have not gone as would have liked. For example I had a new Brower fan switch installed my wife brought the car home When I checked it to see how it worked not gone as would have liked. For example I had a new Brower fan switch installed my wife brought the car home When I checked it to see how it worked it a was exactly the way it was when we took the car in.The mechanic that worked on it did not even check to see if his repair worked.Probably the the most disturbing thing about that is it was the shop Forman is the one who did the work. We did take the car back the next day and they got us right in witch I appreciate greatly once they got the fan working properly they told us it was just a couple of the electrical connection pins needed adjusted. This leads me to believe that was the problem all along and i just payed for a part and some labor i didn't really need thats a problem in my mind.I would like to say that every one i work with in the service department was super helpful and a pleasure to work with thank you for that.
