Great experience overall I hate car shopping because I hate car dealers. We'd already been to several different dealerships when we came to Arapahoe Hyundai, one of whom was t I hate car shopping because I hate car dealers. We'd already been to several different dealerships when we came to Arapahoe Hyundai, one of whom was trying to push us into a new "hail sale" car with visible dents all over the place, then refusing to negotiate with us when we asked to see a used (hail-free) model. We finally came to this dealership and Devin was so kind and polite, answering our questions without being pushy. He disclosed hail damage up front, but pointed out that everything had already been fixed and invited us to inspect the car. I appreciated that gesture and thought it spoke to the integrity of the dealership, especially after what we'd already experienced. It did take a while to get through financing, but that's to be expected. Overall, it was a good experience and I'm glad we came by. More

Engine blew up 2 weeks after I bought car at Arapahoe Hyunda My 22 year old daughter was buying her first car. On 6/18/18, we went to Arapahoe Hyundai to look at a 2005 Mazda 6. The car had a good one owner Carf My 22 year old daughter was buying her first car. On 6/18/18, we went to Arapahoe Hyundai to look at a 2005 Mazda 6. The car had a good one owner Carfax report and decent miles for a car of that age (odometer read 137,842). It drove well and sounded good so she applied for a loan and I co-signed on it. Less than 2 weeks later the engine exploded and she had a $5000.00 loan for a piece of scrap metal and no car. She took the car home on 6/18. On 6/20 the check engine light came on (odometer: 137,911). On 6/21 she brought the car back to Arapahoe Hyundai for their service people to look at. The code for the light was P0128FF Coolant Thermostat Failure. The mechanic said they would fix it for $285. I talked to him and said that considering she had the car less than 2 days and had put less than 70 miles on it when the check engine light came on, they should do the repair at no charge. He said he would check and call back. He called back and said it would be $285. When my daughter picked up the car he told her he reset the check engine light so it was off. She asked if they had done that before they put the car for sale too. We have a trusted mechanic (AAA+ rating with BBB) so wanted them to do any repairs. On 6/22 she brought the Mazda to our mechanic (odometer: 137,965). She was leaving on a road trip for Chicago the following week so we also had them do a thorough inspection. They came up with same code on the check engine light but could not see any issues with the thermostat. Additionally, on the inspection they found that the oil was very dirty (according to the Carfax, Arapahoe Hyundai changed the oil filter but not the oil), the power steering fluid was black (should have been light red), and the battery was "marginal". None of those things was concerning as far as the car making the trip. We had them change the oil and rather than risk a breakdown, replace the thermostat. Daughter left on road trip on 7/1 (odometer: 138,204). We told her to check the oil throughout the trip. She checked it in North Platte, NE and again in Anita, IA. Both times it was clear and full. She stopped in Walcott, IA for a break and as she was getting back on I-80 the car started shutting down. As she was trying to slow down and pull off the highway (with no power steering and brakes that were mush) there was an explosion under the hood and the car shut completely down (odometer: 139,053). The car was towed back to Walcott, IA to a mechanic shop where the mechanic confirmed the engine blew up. My wife has left 4 voicemail messages with the GM but only gets salespeople calling her back. They say the dealership won't do the right thing because we "let another mechanic touch the car" or they "the car is too far away for them to inspect", and my favorite "unfortunately issues go wrong with vehicles all the time". There are too many good and ethical dealerships in the Denver Metro Area to be going to one like this. More
