But individual salesman flexibili Not all dealerships are equal. Honda’s preferred sales technique is the same, no matter which dealership you choose. But individual salesman flexibility to deviate from that standard technique in small ways is what makes some dealerships more customer-friendly than others. This comes from the top down, flowing from the personality of the dealership owners down to the managers and then to the individual sale representatives. Arrowhead Honda is one, and likely the only, example in the Valley area of such a dealership—where the owners put the customer’s buying experience first and give their agents the flexibility to accommodate that experience. Yes, Arrowhead sales reps have sales in mind, but no, they won’t let corporate Honda’s preferred sales technique ruin a positive customer buying experience. I asked too many questions; nit-picked too many details; and lead too many awkward pauses during the negotiation to deserve any praise from their agents. Honestly, they probably thought I was the worst customer—and that’s exactly what I hoped for. The fact this dealership entertained my time at all can only speak volumes to their character. Other dealerships would not have put up with it, but this one did, and Michael Castellano did. I couldn’t be more appreciative of having that flexibility in the process, and I would recommend them, and him, and thousand times over. More
