We realized early in our meeting with Tia that she had sold us our son’s car three years ago at the Honda dealership in El Cajon. Small world. She was awesome then and she was awesome this time around. You’re lucky to have her on board! Dan was professional, friendly and efficient. I usually brace myself for an onslaught of upsell at the finance table. It’s often the most unpleasant part of purchasing a car. But but Dan did his job by explaining my options thoroughly without a high pressure pitch. Because I didn’t feel as if I was being sold, I purchased a few options—something I’ve never done before. BAD Experience Called dealer to get recall airbag installed. Told I needed a second airbag that was on backorder. Called again months later, told that I didn’t nee Called dealer to get recall airbag installed. Told I needed a second airbag that was on backorder. Called again months later, told that I didn’t need two airbags, just that there was a newer model. Scheduled replacement. Was told it could be done in two hours on a Saturday. Brought the car in. Car was done in time. Went to leave, piece of paper on passenger seat. It was label for shipping the old airbags back to the manufacturer. Returned it to the Service Dept. Went to leave again. Found that ODB dongle was still attached under the steering wheel. Retuned it to the service Dept. Following weekend, went to put groceries in the back of the car. The spare tire cover sagged under the weight. Lift cover the find the foam insert the sits on top of the tire and holds up the cover is missing. Turns out dealers are now required to check the air pressure in the tires, which is a good thing. Call dealer and ask if they have it in their lost-and-found. They call back and tell me no, it was thrown away. So I tell them to order a replacement. After two weeks of no response, I call them. They have the replacement. I go to pick it up, it’s wrong. I stand with the parts guys as he looks through the online catalog. He finds the right part, I say that’s it, but he says no, I think it’s this other part. I say you’re wrong , but go ahead. I wait again, with no response. I call them. The part is in. I got to pick it up. It’s wrong again. I stand there with a different parts guy as he goes through the catalog, but he can’t even find the right part. And now I’m getting from the service rep that it must not have been there, or it doesn’t exist. Well, I’ve had enough. More
