over charged 2 year old car that said service due and only 2700 miles on car. Avoiding coolant pump warranty repair Service writer was very courteous and congenial however he and/or the technician fabricated a tale that an oil leak on the cam bridge caused the coola Service writer was very courteous and congenial however he and/or the technician fabricated a tale that an oil leak on the cam bridge caused the coolant pump/thermostat assembly to fail and therefor Audi would not replace the pump as required by the recent lawsuit. They would repair the leak and replace the pump/thermostat assembly for $3,500. An independent mechanic verified that the cam bridge oil leak was insignificant and did not cause the pump failure. The failure was a cracked plastic thermostat housing which he replaced with an after market metal housing for $1,000. FYI Audi San Diego shop rate is $199/hr. This is the second pump failure in 75,000 miles on a A4, 2.0T. Audi San Diego did replace the first pump per the warranty at 50,000 miles. More
