My husband and I have always owned Volkswagen's. Our first was a rabbit which my husband drove up here after buying it in Washington State. We took it to Eero (now Morrison) for all of our needs as it was the only VW dealer. Since then we have owned a beetle, and are now on our second jetta. Our daughters are VW owners. About a month ago our warranty ran out and 4,000 miles later found out we needed a new transmission at a tune of $6000 (not including labor). My husband is a seasonal worker and that is more then our savings. Bill Shipp was awesome, trying to get VW to work with us and help us with the price. After much going back and forth they said they would give us $3000 which made us very happy. But me, always believing that when you are a good customer and always brag up the VW company, that Morrison should have helped out too. I posted a letter saying pretty much that and within a few days I received a phone call from Rick Morrison himself. He had Sean George, their service manager, in his office with him. He told me he would like to help with another $2000 dollars. He wanted me to bring it in during the week and I explained Don and I both work and Don had already lost money taking time off from work to take the car( we own only one car) to Anchorage (we live in Palmer) during all this process of dealing with the transmission. I asked if I could take it in on a Saturday and he said yes and would have a rental waiting for me. Tomorrow was the day I was suppose to take it in, but before I could even call to see if it was still a go, I had a call from Bill saying if I could bring it in, they could start on it today and be finished by tomorrow. I explained I couldn't ( I own a daycare in my home) and he said that was fine, they should be able to do it all in 4 hours or so and I could have the rental if they couldn't. I told him fine. Then a few minutes later he called and asked if I would give them permission to bring the rental out and the guy would drive our car in and they could start work on it today. I said yes and now my car is at Morrison. I feel they have gone above and beyond what I wanted or expected from them. Thank you again Rick and Bill. As my kids would say "you guys rock".
