Peter, "It has come to our attention recently that you have begun to blog and post comments to social media to defame and disparage the reputation of our company. Nowadays social media can play a huge part in the public's perception of the integrity of a business as well as its viability as a legitimate shopping alternative. Fortunately, we are a well established firm, grounded in the principals providing superior products and service at outstanding value. It is adhering to these principals and core values that have made us successful for over 18 years. There are rival competitors and many people in a similar industry however that may want to see the failure of such success. Unfortunately, this one particular individual, Peter Gjonlekaj, has taken to social media to voice his opinion to members of his social media circle. Auto Expo has always taken a special pride in having resolved any disputes that may arise in the course of doing business in a fair and professional manner. We understand the importance adhering to business practices that will yield good will and referrals from satisfied customers. That is how we have grown our business over the years, and maintain this idea as a centerpiece of our management philosophy. It is our most sincere goal that at the conclusion of each and every transaction that our customer leave completely satisfied. Mr. Gjonlekaj's claim, as far as we can tell, is that he did not fully understand the terms of sale when they were presented to him at the time he took delivery of the vehicle he purchased from us. When it became clear to us that no matter how much in earnest that we tried to re-explain things, we seemed to have reached an impasse and would not be able to resolve his issue amicably. At that point, we offered, on several occasions, during our multiple email and text conversations with Mr. Gjonlekaj, to issue him a full refund and unwind the purchase if he was unhappy. A full refund, no questions asked. Mr. Gjonlekaj rejected that offer and instead threatened to carry out a social media smear campaign if we did not comply with what amounts to paying a ransom or "hush money" payment amounting to several thousands of dollars. Adhering to our principals and firm belief that he was treated fairly in this instance, would not allow us to agree to his terms. While Mr. Gjonlekaj has the absolute right to express his feelings on this matter, Auto Expo must state publicly here that if any published comments were made by those who are not verified customers or from individuals who have never visited our dealership, then the statements will be considered as written defamation/slander, and any libel will result in swift and deliberate legal action."
