Three months ago, I contacted Autonation Buick GMC West Sahara in Las Vegas, NV, for a major repair. The cost of the repair was approximately $7,000. This repair also included replacing the front brakes. Since the repair, I've reported a problem with the front brakes several times. Every time I brake, I hear a metallic squeaking sound. I also noticed a very heavy buildup of brake pads, which I never experienced before the repair. I also experience steering wheel vibration when braking at 60 mph. Finally, after contacting them again, they told me I needed to schedule a special appointment for a thorough inspection, which involved jacking up the car and removing the wheels to determine exactly what was wrong with the brakes. I drove the car that day and patiently waited for the inspection. After half an hour, the "big brake specialist" got into my car, backed up half a step, and left with a "diagnosis" that new brake discs and pads were needed. When I went to the service center, I was told the entire cost would have to be covered by me. After speaking with the manager, I learned that I needed to order parts and that he might be able to lower the price a bit. In my opinion, and I think it's not just me, the mechanic didn't properly resurface the brake discs, which is where the problem is. Four weeks have now passed, and no one has called or left a message about what to do next. If you ever need help or repairs, don't count on a mechanic (who might only be good for an oil change) or a service person, or even a manager. Tomasz.D. More
