1/5 — Very disappointing experience I bought a used Toyota Tacoma from AutoNation Dodge Ram Colorado Springs. Sergio Garcia was my salesperson and Cody Milhoan handled the financing. Less than a month after buying the truck, I took it to an independent Toyota specialist. They found all four tires at 4/32" and the rear brakes at 2–3/32". I then asked AutoNation for the inspection they performed before selling me the truck. Their own paperwork shows **all four tires were already at just 5/32" at the time of sale.** None of those measurements were disclosed to me when I was buying the truck. What really bothers me is how low AutoNation’s own standard appears to be. Their inspection paperwork shows a certification threshold of **4/32" for the applicable tire category**, and they sold me the truck with all four tires at 5/32"—just 1/32" above that threshold. This is also Colorado, where the winter Traction Law uses a 6/32" tread requirement when applicable. AutoNation’s own measurements show my tires were already below that winter threshold when I bought the truck. Had Sergio told me the actual tread measurements, I absolutely would have factored four tires into the purchase price and negotiations. I called Store Manager Brian Espinoza, explained the situation, and asked AutoNation to help with the replacement cost. He told me they were unwilling to do anything. The post-sale experience hasn’t been much better. I also reached out to Cody Milhoan in Finance multiple times in writing with questions after the purchase and never received a response. I’m not complaining because a used truck eventually needs maintenance. I’m frustrated that a vehicle can apparently receive AutoNation’s “125-Point Certified” designation while its tires are **barely above the certification threshold shown on their own inspection paperwork**, the actual measurements weren’t disclosed to me, and management still wouldn’t offer any help less than a month after the sale. If you’re buying a used vehicle here, **get an independent inspection before you buy and ask for the actual inspection sheet and measurements.** Don’t assume “125-Point Certified” means the tires, brakes, or other wear items have much useful life left. I wish I had known that before buying here. I would steer clear of these guys. More
