I’m a long-time AutoNation customer, as are my parents, and I’ve referred friends to AutoNation dealerships over the years. That’s why this experience with AutoNation Honda Lewisville was extremely disappointing. I brought my vehicle in for service and, while it was there, asked about selling it back to the dealership. After reviewing the vehicle, their used-car representative made me a $13,000 offer in writing via text. I tried negotiating to $13,500, but they declined. I accepted the $13,000 offer, began providing the requested paperwork, and made arrangements to return to complete the transaction. Then, on the morning of the scheduled transaction, while I was already driving an hour back to the dealership, I was told the manager had changed the offer to $11,500 because of the service bill. I immediately asked to speak with the General Manager. I was brought to Jason and was told that Jason was the GM. I spoke with him about the situation, believing I was speaking directly with the dealership’s General Manager. After the fact, I did my own online research and found that Jason was apparently not the General Manager. That added another layer of frustration and confusion to an already disappointing experience. The biggest issue, however, is the $1,500 price change. The dealership had possession of my vehicle the entire time and knew its condition before making the $13,000 offer. If the service bill affected the value, that should have been considered before making and agreeing to the offer—not after I accepted it, provided paperwork, rearranged my schedule, and was already on my way to complete the transaction. I understand dealerships need to make money. What I don’t understand is making an offer, having the customer accept it, and then changing the deal by $1,500 at the last minute. This wasn’t just about the money. It was about honesty, professionalism, communication, and keeping your word. After being a loyal AutoNation customer and referring others to AutoNation, I expected much better. Very disappointed in how this was handled by AutoNation Honda Lewisville. A dealership’s word should mean something. More
Recently, I visited Autonation for back camera call back. The advisor checked the part availability and then confirmed me the appointment. This make my journey smooth and pretty happy. There was something covered under warranty and they did mention somethings needs replacement, but was is necessarily required to be changed, I doubt. Service advisor was never available to take call for explain the charges. Called him more than 10times. He was the worst. I’ll never ever go to service here again. More
