I recently purchased a 2023 Audi A4 from Autobahn USA, Dedham, and want to provide a fair and balanced account of my experience. First, the positives: I am pleased with the car itself. In the end, Autobahn stood behind the vehicle and approved the necessary repairs shortly after purchase. I value the management's commitment to resolving the issues. That said, the path to resolution was unnecessarily complex. During my initial test drive, I noticed the Audi pre-sense warning light illuminate, indicating a potential hazard detected by the vehicle's safety system. It was dismissed as likely snow or road salt on a sensor. After purchase, Audi later confirmed the system required recalibration, which was covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. However, shortly after taking the car for an alignment, a check engine light came on. Audi Westwood ultimately determined the cause was an aftermarket radiator component related to a prior front-end repair (CarFax reflected a minor front-end accident). That issue required replacing aftermarket parts and associated labor totaling approximately $3,600. This repair was not covered by warranty and had to be approved and paid for by Autobahn USA Dedham. To their credit, they authorized and paid for that repair. Other challenges during the transaction included: • The vehicle was not ready for my scheduled appointment. • A $999 LoJack add-on required a pushback before it was removed. • My trade-in value increased only after negotiation. • During negotiations, I was told I would “likely continue finding something to be unhappy about,” which was disappointing. • My Social Security number was entered incorrectly on the loan, requiring an in-person visit to Rockland Federal Credit Union to resolve. • The vehicle was delivered with only one key (not disclosed upfront). • Registration paperwork and insurance notification were delayed. I ultimately paid Audi $225 to program the second key. When I raised concerns about the missing key and the overall experience, the salesperson became visibly agitated and raised his voice in the showroom. At that point, I requested to work directly with management going forward. Once Sales Manager Henry Sestayo and GM Mark Johnson became involved, communication improved. They approved the non-warranty repairs and connected me with the Audi service advisor for updates. In the end, the vehicle was properly repaired and is now performing well. However, resolving these issues required multiple visits, escalations, and time away from work. Several of the problems—warning lights, missing key disclosure, inaccurate loan paperwork, and post-repair alignment—should have been identified and addressed before delivery. I appreciate that Autobahn ultimately stood behind the car. That said, the overall experience left me cautious, and I would likely purchase any extended warranty directly from Audi rather than through dealership financing in the future. I hope this feedback is constructive for management and helpful to prospective buyers. More

We bought a car a few years ago at Autobahn in Westborough. It was a great experience. We got the certified program and everything was transparent. No hidden fees and reasonable fees for documentation etc. Recently we were in the market for another car and I saw one advertised in Dedham. We were headed that way so I stopped there to look at it. They did not have the car there. I spoke to a salesman about it. He asked if would be financing through them I said I will if it will save me some money as long as I can pay the loan off anytime. So he came back with an invoice. The car price was listed for 1000.00 more than what it was advertised for on the internet. There was also an almost 1000.00 additional fee for a ceramic coating package. He went on to tell me the price was only the internet price if I financed through them otherwise it was a thousand more. I told him I did not see that in the internet pricing. It is my understanding when you advertise on Car Gurus that dealers are to required to disclose that the price is a 1000.00 more if you don't finance with the dealer. If I new that I never would have gone to look at it. I have seen dealers disclose that in the past. I asked about paying the loan off and was told i would have to pay on it for 6 months before I could pay it off. Needless to say I was not interested in that financing. I felt like the ceramic coating was a scam and told him he would have to take that off . He refused. I got the typical ill have to talk to the manager. Came back and said. I had to pay it. I was willing to give him what it was advertised for in the internet. but he refused. As a result I left. My wife wanted to buy it and subsequently kept calling and texting her. Never contacted me. Needless to say my experience there was very bad. I just received an email that the car was sold for 1000 less than I offered them. It will not being going back to Autobahn after that experience.
