I waited a bit after taking possession of my 2019 (certified pre-owned) X1 from BMW Alexandria in July 2022 because I wanted the objectivity time time can buy —how much of my dissatisfaction with th (certified pre-owned) X1 from BMW Alexandria in July 2022 because I wanted the objectivity time time can buy —how much of my dissatisfaction with the dealership had to do with me, and how much didn’t. I’m there. The car? Very happy. The dealership? Here it is: 1) they would not take a deposit while I arranged financing, and I was a former customer; 2) when I decided just after taking possession of the car (well before BMW submitted the paperwork for Title and tags) I had to wait 2 hours at the dealership for a two-minute paperwork update. No one seemed to concerned about the wait, no matter that I spent almost $40k just 2 days prior (did the fact that I declined to finance the vehicle through BMW, and declined an extended warranty have anything to do with that disinterest?); 3) once the paperwork was updated to add my wife, which took 4 days while the credit union handling the post-sale loan waited, the paperwork included a number of mistakes that promised to make a later sale or trade of the car problematic. 5) The next set of paperwork took another 4 days. No one seemed particularly concerned with the wait, though lip service was periodically given to ‘making things right.’ 6) the kicker: once the paperwork was corrected and the financing finalized, it was me who called the dealership regarding the tags, first to arrange for a new temp tag because time had expired, and then again to confirm the hard tags were there. When I contacted the salesman, Nicky, to have the second temp tag tags and the floor mats mailed/shipped as he’d promised to do at the time of sale (floor mats were not available at time I got the car, although that was not mentioned until I completed the paperwork), he said “his manager” would not let him ship either one. Why, I asked? Because “I tried to make you happy, but obviously did not.” Two trips from DC to BMW for the tags and the mats. And what did I bring to this? Well, I did tell the salesman I would buy the pre-owned X1, and then changed my mind the next morning because I decided I wanted a new one instead. And then I changed my mind again the next morning, on which day I wrote a check and purchased the car. There you have it. Love the car. Hated the post-sale process/experience. Maybe that’s the way of things when it comes to purchasing cars. BMW of Alexandria seems to think my expectations were unreasonable. For me, I don’t expect to ever go back. NOTE: Stopped in at BMW of Fairfax recently to arrange an oil change. Actually liked the service tech and the vibe of the place. More
I was told my vehicle woul take approximately two to two a half hours to service. I finall asked a service manager why no one had contacted me while I waited in the waiting room. He directed me to the servi a half hours to service. I finall asked a service manager why no one had contacted me while I waited in the waiting room. He directed me to the service man who worked on my vehicle. I waited another 15 minutes for paperwork. My bill was $48.00 but I was charged $213.59. I have called, emailed and texted the dealership and I’ve had no response. More
If I could give 0 stars, I would. In May of this year, I purchased a warranty when I bought my car. In June, i got approved for refinancing, but was told by the bank that they could not finance the warranty. I have been literally begging BMW to cancel my warranty so that I can obtain refinancing. The process started in May, first the website wasn't working, then in June I went in person and got receipt of the cancelation. I was told that it would take 6 weeks. I patiently waited 6 weeks.. nothing happened. I went back to BMW in August to find out my paperwork was never submitted and I would have to wait another six weeks! Last month in September, I contacted the warranty company directly and was told that BMW never submitted the cancelation. The warranty company asked me to fax over the documents in which I did and the following week I got confirmation that the warranty was finally canceled and that BMW would refund the cost $2,300, would be paid directly to my lien holder. It is now mid October , 5 months later, and my lien holder has yet to receive the refund. I am totally disgusted with this dealership and this has been the worst experience ever!! I do not recommend doing business with this dealership. The management is very rude and dismissive. I told the manager that paying my car payment with the current rate is causing me a hardship, he totally ignored me and stopped responding to my calls. I feel that the dealership is trying to keep my money. I am now seeking legal advice. More
Went through multiple emails with this dealership about ordering a car. Sent specs, phone call, emails. Was told I could get the car in 3-4 months and I would receive a call on Monday to place the order. N ordering a car. Sent specs, phone call, emails. Believe these other low reviews. This company most have new dollar quotas for service because they tried to turn my routine oil change on a car with only 60k miles into a $1500 thing This company most have new dollar quotas for service because they tried to turn my routine oil change on a car with only 60k miles into a $1500 thing. I declined all the extras. On my way home after the oil change my check engine light came on. I return to this place and they tried to pretend i had a blown thermostat. Cost? $500 plus labor. It was such an obvious scam. I told them to bring me my xxxx car because they are crooks! More
The worst service ever! So, my X5 is 4 years old and of course it's no longer under warrantee. Now, when I go in for service, they suddenly find all of these things wrong with the car (to the tune of $5000). Where were all of these problems 6 months ago, when it was still under warrantee and BMW would have to foot the bill????? Anyway, a few weeks ago, they installed a new e-brake switch to "correct" a problem - A Parking brake malfunction light kept appearing on the dashboard. They replaced the switch for $600 (ouch). A couple of weeks later, the warning light reappeared, and kept reappearing ALL the time. (Very annoying). I take the car back to the dealer, and now they tell me the whole e-brake unit has to be replaced... for $2200!!! (OUCH!!!) I argued with them and asked them to take the $600 off my bill, because that obviously was not the problem. Of course, they did not do this. Anyway, then the "advisor" tells me that I shouldn't drive the car and tries to get me into a loaner (so they can make even MORE money, of course). He gives me some BS story about how dangerous it would be to drive the car around like that, and that it would take several weeks to get the part in. Really??? I declined the loaner. The next day, the adviser calls and says that miraculously the part came in early! OH, WHAT A SURPRISE!!!! Anyway, I got the car into the shop today, and they hopefully fixed the problem... but of course, they charged me even more money (to add insult to injury). This dealer has lost my business forever. I will go to the one in Rockville next time... oh, and more importantly buy my new X5 from them next year as well. More
I scheduled my car for oil change @ 79. 95 with bmw Alexandria. 06/25/2022 8.00 am I dropped my car. Service advisor Javier Regalo also recommended me Standard Scope, Air filter Cartrige R 95 with bmw Alexandria. 06/25/2022 8.00 am I dropped my car. Service advisor Javier Regalo also recommended me Standard Scope, Air filter Cartrige Replace, Micro filter Replace and performance brake flush at total cast of $902.14 including all taxes and shop charges. And he offered me complementary car wash too. I trusted him and dropped my car. Later he called me and recommended additional services like BG coolant system, rear final drive, fuel injector cleaner Services and also replacement of both rear tires in additional cost of $1213.09. All I was paying from pocket. So I refused for additional service 0f $1213.09. I was keep monitoring my car through App. They moved my car 1pm in work shop and hardly work 2 hours on my car. And 3 pm SA Javier called me car is ready for pick up. I asked him. How much you charged hourly. He said $175. Then I asked him. Your mechanic worked just 2 hours on my car. Why you charging me $902.14 just for service. He got very mad on me and started asking me personal questions. Instead of $902.14 he charged me $911.14. He pulled my car. I noticed car was not washed and vacuumed. I opened door and showed him dirt on my car floor. I complained him that you offered me complementary car wash. SA Javier Regalo was very rude and disrespectful with me. He said do I want free car detailing. I said no I just want vacuum. I left dealer ship in this situation. I took my car to tire shop to check rear tires. Both tires were in good condition. After that I was very confused. I m thinking I paid them $911.14 just for oil change. I m thinking BMW Alexandria made me fool and rube me. I will never go there again in any kind of service. Although I also live in Alexandria and they are located 6 miles from my apartment More

We purchased our car in January 2017 with the cilijet coating (LOVE IT) but I have tried, unsuccessfully, for 2 months to schedule the reapplication after 5 years that’s part of our contract. I have ema coating (LOVE IT) but I have tried, unsuccessfully, for 2 months to schedule the reapplication after 5 years that’s part of our contract. I have emailed them repeatedly, including the General Manager, and no reply. Great car, but there’s simply no service. I can’t answer most of the survey questions for the rating since I can’t get the service scheduled! More
Avoid this place. I would give ZERO stars but I don't see that as an available option. This dealership provided the absolute WORST service we have ever experienced at I would give ZERO stars but I don't see that as an available option. This dealership provided the absolute WORST service we have ever experienced at any car dealership. We recently moved to this area and had a service light on our BMW. I called and made an appointment and was told that the morning was the best time to come because the wait would not be as long. After 4 hours, we were told that we needed some work done on the car and that our $3500 extended warranty we purchased at the BMW dealership in Huntsville, AL would only cover a portion of the repairs. On top of that, they said even after the repairs were done, this may not fix our problem. Even though they got an approval from the extended warranty company, the Service Manager said that they would repair our car, but would have to keep it until they actually received the money from the warranty company. My husband said can we get a loaner, as we just moved here 5 days ago and don't have our other car here with us and we have other appointments today. He told us that they only give loaners to their 'loyal customers'. We said we haven't had an opportunity to become loyal customers as we just moved to the area; however, we have owned the BMW for over 5 years. They would not try help us in any way - by they I mean the Service Manager (Todd Hartje) and the General Manager (Omar Stwodah) when we asked to speak to him. Furthermore, all of our conversations took place with them in the middle of the service area until we asked can we go to your office and discuss this. We left very dissatisfied, 5 hours later, and still with a service light on our car. We were charged $200 for the diagnostics. When we told them we just our car back, it took them an additional 45 minutes to bring our car to us, without the customary BMW wash. The Service Manager and General Manager were basically rude and condescending and displayed microaggressive behavior. I will never spend my money at an establishment like that. Never once did the General Manager or Service Manager try to help our situation, they only told us what the would do for their loyal customers. We called BMW of North America to file a complaint against BMW of Alexandria and they recorded our complaint but did not say what the corrective action against BMW of Alexandria would be. My husband likes the way the BMW drives, but after this experience, even he is considering going back to Lexus or Genesis. I only went to this place because we were staying at the Embassy Suites and I looked for closest BMW dealership. I should have read the reviews first. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE. More
