A Fun and Insightful Dealer Experience I was looking to buy a Jeep Renegade and had visited other car dealerships that same month (Princeton, NJ area) and besides the outgoing friendliness I was looking to buy a Jeep Renegade and had visited other car dealerships that same month (Princeton, NJ area) and besides the outgoing friendliness the next thing that stuck out to me was the wealth of information that the salesman knew about the vehicle as compared to other dealerships I had visited. It was like going here was like having the textbook and other dealerships were like getting a cheat sheet. I personally really liked that aspect because my salesman knew the vehicle he was trying to sell and he knew it well. He was also very funny and joked around with my friend and I especially during all the test drives. The price negotiation wasn't bad, this being my first time buying a car from a dealer I'm not too sure what the norm is, but I would say they felt a little pushy at first, but had they not been so I would not have bought the car and would not be nearly as happy as I am now. When sales is your job, you have to make sure you sell, but don't get me wrong it was never bad pushy or rude, it was all very friendly. So the negotiation part took maybe 30min? I wasn't timing it so I'm not positive on how long it took, then he'd go and get stuff, come back fill out some paperwork, go leave, get some more, come back fill out more stuff once the previous stuff was settled, so on and so forth. My friend that I was with had to leave for the airport (we arrived at the dealer near 1pm and I had to take him to airport at 3pm), which was Philly so with the traffic there it took me a little over an hour to get him there and then be back at the dealership and they were very friendly - we just paused what we were doing and when I got back we resumed. After all the new car price and insurance stuff was settled then I went over to finance, filled that paperwork out, asked a bunch of questions, which were all answered. During that final time the took my brand new Renegade to a car wash and filled it up with gas for me and had it waiting and ready at the front door for me and wished me well on my way out. Oh I also forgot to mention when you buy a car there, they have "Bell Experience", they ring a bell to mark that a sale was made and then all the employees in the whole room (about a dozen) all come over and one by one congratulate you and shake your hand, so that was pretty nice. All in all it was a very pleasant experience! More
