Purchased a brand new 2016 535i from Bert Smith, and at 58,000 miles and out of warranty my power steering went out completely. I was open to the idea of trading it in for a new car if they'd offered to treat me fairly given the low mileage and huge expenses to repair, but no such luck. This dealership's reputation for gouging after the sale and not honoring repeat buyers was affirmed to me, and I took my business to Sarasota BMW. More

The car had more problems when they completed the oil change than it did when I dropped it off. The Check Engine light was on when I picked it up, and they never noticed it. My car is a plug in hybrid, and I asked that they charge the battery. They never did. All of the preset radio stations and other settings coded to my key were gone, all the results of a simple oil change! More

I bought a BMW back in April when I first got it it was not all the way clean they did not show me how to work the stuff in the BMW I had to ask for help. It has been four months since I bought the BMW and the headlight has went out the total cost was 3000 but with the help of the warranty I only paid about $600. The new headlight looks ridiculous with the old headlight which makes me hate the car even more now. When I picked up my car from the service center from getting the new headlight I went not even a mile up the road and the Low tire pressure light came on and I called immediately and they told me to come when I can and when I got there they said that there was a nail in my tire so if you put two into together the nail came from them. Bobby who is ahead of everybody at the BMW store in Saint Petersburg Florida did not care he said I needed to pay for the tire. And that he would buy the truck back from me for 18,000.00 if I wanted too. I said that’s nice but I would still be owing on my loan and I don’t want to be upside down so I’ll figure that stuff out later but let’s get the tire fixed. when me and Bobby first spoke I thought he was saying that they were going to cover the tire because it did happen on their property by us putting two into together. But come to find out Bobby did not say he was gonna pay for the tire and then I needed to pay for the tire when I told him I needed to call my husband to talk it over with him he told me that I was refusing to pay for the tire and that he was going to call the police on me because I was already causing a scene and saying that I felt like wanting to punch Alex Who has been working with me since day one and has been stressing me out since day one he has been a little help but a little stressful as well And what made me say that about the salesman was I asked Alex do you know who that black guy is that works at the shop and he said no now how do you see this only black guy that works here and you don’t know who he is that what was it upset me how do you not know the workers names in this building. I know the guys name and I don’t even work here. Bobby kept threatening to call the police on me so I told him to call the police and I waited patiently for the police. Bobby told me he did not want me on his property I got the tire fixed and my husband came to get my keys and Bobby told my husband to get his self off the property started freaking out on my husband and proceeded to call the police again my husband was not there for any of this so why would you call the police on a disabled veteran someone who served in the army for 19 years. Bobby is a madman his eyes were getting bloodshot red his face was turning red when he was talking he was so angry and mad that this was going on. I have called the BMW complaint line and they have it all on a recorded line of everything that happened because while I was on the phone with them they could hear Bobby talking and they also said that Bobby was unprofessional throughout the whole thing just like Bobby has witnesses I have witnesses as well and it’s actually on a recorded line. I believe Bobby is mad that I called the BMW complaint line and he started acting out on that. Bobby was so mad that today the weather was 90° and he told me I could not go inside and wait for my BMW to be done so I had to wait 30 minutes for my husband to drive clear across town with the kids to bring me a car so I could sit in the car and not stand in the heat to wait to get the tire fixed .
