The day at the dealership started well when my fiancee and I met with Senior Client Advisor Michael Ford. After we decided on a vehicle, I mentioned that I was pre-approved for financing and this is where the buying experience went awry. We were handed off to The finance manager, Kristal Nieves, who was insistent on us utilizing one of the financial institutions that Bert Smith BMW usually uses while fumbling with compact mirror. She spent an inordinate amount of time trying to find a financial institution that had a comparable rate even after I mentioned to her that the rate I received would be difficult to beat. She ignored my request to continue with my pre-approved certificate and even suggested that I accept the higher interest rate loan and refinance with my financial institution, which I stated that I was not going to do. She decided to bring in the sales manager, Thomas Photolupos. He entered the office with a "full head" of steam. He sat down and was doodling some numbers and I mentioned to him that the rate i received was unbeatable. He became belligerent and irate and stated that we are a small business and we have been burned before from out of state banks. I was taken aback by this statement since I didn't find the relevancy. I mentioned to him that we were not taking the vehicle until the dealership received the funds, which would be remitted in 48 hours. Mr. Photolupos replied with "what does that mean"? I countered with if you provide the purchase order, the check will be sent to the dealership overnight. He said "fine" and departed the office. After this interaction with him, I was inclined to cancel the purchase, but my fiancee really liked the vehicle. The purchase was completed two days later and we love the vehicle, but unwarranted and unprofessional behavior from the aforementioned individuals, is the reason I will refrain from conducting business with Bert Smith BMW dealership again. Buyers beware of this dealership if you're not using a financial institution that they're familiar with. More
