It was a day of thing (obviously) I called at 9 am and they got me in around 2, and out by 3:30. I haven't had any issues since plus a nice little spot to work remotely with free wifi was very helpful. I'll be back, Steve Lewis's service was never on time or helpful so although I bought the car there I'll trust Bertera to service it from now on. More
Disaster Made Worse Our recent experience with Bertera Subaru was such a catastrophe. We have purchased 5 cars from Bertera in total, but will not return again. We have Our recent experience with Bertera Subaru was such a catastrophe. We have purchased 5 cars from Bertera in total, but will not return again. We have been disappointed with their service department for a long while. They changed a head gasket in one of our older cars, and charged a couple of hundred dollars more than estimated. There was no informing us of the increased cost prior to the work being done. We purchased a used car from them which had a leaking head gasket, differential problems and brakes in need of repair. Supposedly the car had been inspected by Bertera with the assurance that any problems would be taken care of by them. They resolved issues when it was brought back after having been reviewed by 2 other mechanics. Then we purchased a 2013 Impreza from Bertera. The purchase of the car went well. At approximately 46,000 miles the transmission died, only to be followed by a 2nd transmission failure and then a third all within a 2 to 3 month period. There is not enough room here to cover all of the back and forth communication between Bertera, Subaru of America and us. We eventually brought our car to Steve Lewis Subaru from Bertera. We received minimal if any support from either the service department or the management of Bertera. We were initially told the transmission fluid was black, but because a code within the car didn't register the transmission which was under warranty could not be replaced. Bertera replaced the fluid, charged us for it and told us to take the car. We were told the changing of the fluid might resolve the situation. We were charged for the fluid even though it wasn't scheduled to be changed. Subaru of America reimbursed us for the fluid change following the first transmission failure. The first transmission went, as did a second transmission, and lastly a third causing my husband to skid about 200 feet and into a guardrail off of the highway. He was transporting the car to Steve Lewis from Bertera where it had just been repaired. It went 18 miles on a new transmission before it, too failed. The transmission failures were difficult enough as it was but we were equally incredulous with the rude and unsupportive treatment we received. The difference in service between Bertera and Steve Lewis Subaru was 180 degrees. I won't return to Bertera. More
Bait and switch or coincidence??? I found this car on cars.com. Then looked at it on Bertera subaru website, in which it was the same.It looked like the perfect car for our daughter and granddaughter. Safety is our #1 concern when purchasing the car for them. I called them this morning to confirm it was there. Then called Back this afternoon to make an appointment and was assigned Dan Leary as our salesman since we were driving approx 80 miles to and from to test drive and ultimately purchase the car for our precious cargo. The pleasant lady Nicole told me that it would be ready and waiting for when we arrived at our appt. 1st when we arrived Dan was not there, he had gone to the dentist and the car wasn't ready. That was no problem because things happen. Then Joe offered to help us but he seems very rushed and gave the impression that he had better things to do.When shown the car, it had more than 9,000 miles more than advertised. I understand with people test driving miles add up, but 9K??? After test driving the car ourselves with no escort, I fell in love with the car and wanted to keep it for myself. But, once we arrived back to the dealership and started to negotiate, mentioned the bad tires, alignment, timing belt replacement, we were informed that it was sold before we came to the dealership. They said they called us, in which they did at 5:43. We arrived at the dealership at 5:35, so we were at the dealership 10 min before they "tried to call us". Professional courtesy would have offered us another car with comparable value. But, NO they let us walk out of the door quite upset and NO car. I will never go back to this dealership. Is this bait and switch or just coincidence???? More

They gave me by far the best price on my new Subaru and gave me a great deal on my trade-in as well, all without having to be a master negotiator. Josh, Mike (a new salesperson), and all the other staff were super friendly in a genuine way, and I can appreciate that very much. As long as my experiences are consistent, Bertera Subaru will have a lifetime customer from me. More

Watch out for lemons / get a 2nd opinion on condition I purchased a used Outback from these folks in November. The first week we noticed a burning oil smell once the car had been running a while. We let I purchased a used Outback from these folks in November. The first week we noticed a burning oil smell once the car had been running a while. We let if go until the 3 month(?) warranty that came with the purchase was about to expire. We called the dealership and were informed that the warranty only covered "safety items" and a burning oil smell did not qualify. So, we put up with the smell until we took the car in to another dealership for a recall. They informed us that the smell we had been experiencing was oil from a cracked head gasket. I contacted management at Bertera and they stated that they would not do anything as there is no way a cracked head gasket would have gone on that long without catastrophe (the other Subaru dealership and an independent Auto Shop disputed this claim). Buyer beware! More
