Service horrible I purchased a Toyota Tacoma from Bev Smith Toyota. I added the optional Free Tires and Batteries for life for an additional $888.00. I considered th I purchased a Toyota Tacoma from Bev Smith Toyota. I added the optional Free Tires and Batteries for life for an additional $888.00. I considered this to be a good deal because my truck is 4x4 and the tires are expensive. They do NOT, however, tell you that all of your service and maintenance must be done at the dealership as well. I would have given the deal a second thought had I known that all service and maintenance would be required to be done at this dealership. Had I known how absolutely horrible their "service" representatives are, it would be less than zero chance that I would have done it. They are by far the worst, and in my many experiences at auto service departments, that is saying a lot. I made my first service oil change appointment during my lunch break from work. Lots of in and out places do oil changes in 10 minutes so it shouldn't be a problem. The appointment lasted literally a full 3 1/2 hours. During this time, I kept telling them that I needed to get back to work and that I could bring it back another time. It took me about a second to realize that I was talking to myself. I was treated as if I were being a nuisance. He kept assuring me that my vehicle was almost ready. There were no regards of my being late back to work, no apologies, nothing. There is no excuse to take 3 1/2 hours to do what others do in 10 minutes or less. At a later time I received a notice from Toyota that I needed to have my vehicle inspected because the leaf springs may need to be replaced. The letter informed me to note any noise and if I see smoke, because it is near the gas tank, to park and get out. I took it right in for the inspection. I am thankful that they do give customers a written summation of the visit for services performed and services recommended. It said that I did need to have the leaf springs replaced and that the dealership would order them and notify me when they arrived. I am thankful that it was written there, because the "service" representative said not one word about it. The leaf springs did get replaced approximately 6 weeks later. Sure glad I didn't catch on fire in the meantime. You also cannot trust making your appointment online. Looking at the available times means nothing, because when you choose a time, call the service department to verify, you get a chuckle that the appointment is in fact not available. So what is the point of going through that if it is not accurate. Booking the appointment online and showing up at the dealership only to be turned away is not funny. It is inefficient and incompetent and disrespectful of others time. I have owned my vehicle since 2010 and have been to the dealership many times for oil changes, service appointments, etc. I can truly say that I have nothing to praise about them. They are mediocre at best. If I had it to do over again, there is no way that I would buy a Free Tires and Batteries for life contract that ties me to this dealership. Not only that, I would have to get a much better purchase price than other dealers to buy from them in the first place. My two words of advice to you are Caveat Emptor (buyer beware). Dealing with these people is a headache that won't go away for as long as you own your vehicle. Hope you have better luck than I did. More
