Some bumps in the road....but a satisfied customer afterall This the 5th Subaru I have purchased at this dealer. As everyone knows, Subaru owners are loyal to the brand. In the past, I have purchased used Outbacks and one Forrester Subaru with very low mileage and have been totally satisfied. The number of used Subarus right there at Kolb surpass any other dealer. I decided this time to buy a new car....the 2017 Imprezza. Unlike other times, I did shop other dealers and there were considerable differences among them in terms of price, trade-in for my old Subaru and the cost to add features. There was appeal to buy a car closer to my home and readily available. I was very ambivalent, but was so familiar with Kolb, and the price we agreed for everything ........ I decided to buy my car from them again. When my contract was signed at Kolb, I was informed that the car needed to be ordered directly from the factory in Japan. (other dealers stated that they were able to get the car faster through a dealer/dealer swap)) The complication and near deal-breaker obstacle to the purchase arose from the lack of clear information about the arrival of the car and what would be the impact and devaluation on my trade-in due to added mileage over this wait period . . When I considered cancellation and a refund for my down-payment, my salesperson was fully willing to cancel without penalty if that were my choice. I chose to wait and finally on June 9 I picked up the car. What made the wait and uncertainty tolerable was the way in which all the final transaction transpired. Gary Mendelsohn , the sales person made it possible for all of the glitches and complications to be dispelled. The price remained as it was at contract time. The car had a full tank of gas and the features were exacltly as agreed. . When I came for pickup, Gary reviewed all the controls and features of the car and programmed my bluetooth . I chose to purchase the extended warranty and the price given at Kolb was markedly better than other dealers. I had to return for a glitch the following week and the car was attended to immediately despite a busy appointment schedule. Gary has followed up on any questions and sent necessary paperwork right away. Thanks, Gary. So, in the end, I remain a long-term, satisfied customer with Kolb. Linda More

For four months, I constantly researched every Subaru dealer, private dealers and individuals selling 2016 or 2017 Subaru outback’s within 150-mile radius of my home. There is a major Subaru dealership in my hometown and three others before you get to Bill Kolb Jr Subaru. In fact, my wife & I unfortunately made a stop before going to Bill Kolb Jr Subaru a few Saturday’s ago after finding the perfect car on their website. Unfortunately, it was sold that morning, a 2016 Outback. There was a little rain coming down, we’re disappointed and I said okay we made a mistake let’s go back and research everything again; then we had the pleasure of meeting Gary Mendelsohn a sales person at the dealership. What a gentleman, did not push did not rush us more important did not lie to us. He showed us a 2017 Subaru outback premium class but when I saw the seats for cloth I said no because I wish to have leather. Is the answer we can do that. WOW. He sent us back home after a couple minutes of talking so my wife and I can think this over. We did and the next day I filled that out the credit information from Subaru called Gary told him I wanted the seats the colors everything and within a few minutes he emailed me back Done Deal. GREAT PRICE. The dealership is really outstanding the credit department I spent two minutes there with a very knowledgeable finance gentleman. We took the car home while the leather seats were being ordered came back five days later to have the seats worked on they gave us a free loaner car and the work they did on the leather seats was completely amazing. Please note that I have emailed and called many other Subaru dealers and a fourth state radius and that one came close. I couldn’t believe all the other people coming from my hometown of Middletown New York to this dealership in Orangeburg NY to also buy their cars. I saw something like 10 sales people all busy helping people. I have owned 4 Subaru’s so far all over 200,000 miles… next year we will be getting my wife’s car here. John & Michelle Ross More

I have been using them for 10 + years and have NEVER had to bring my vehicle back because the work is completed right the first time. I am introducing vehicle maintenance to my daughter and have no issues sending her alone to have a vehicle serviced. She tells me she never feels out of place even when she does not fully understand what the fabulous service writer is explaining to her. Why would anyone go anywhere else. In two words, Top Notch! More
