He spent plenty off time with me and explained the differences between the models and lease deals. He never pressured me, and gave me enough information to make an informed choice. I ended up with a 2017 Outback and couldn't be happier! Gary once again made my experience stress free and enjoyable. More

We bought the vehicle, a used 2010 Subura Impreza ("sport" sized) from Jeff Weiner, who was equally outstanding, and we have been coming back to this dealership ever since--although we live down in New York City. My salesman, Gary Mendelsohn has helped us purchase many cars in the past and also recently. I have bought 3 cars myself from Gary and I was very satisfied every time. Also, my girlfriend recently bought a car from Gary and she loves her car and received quality service too. Even both my Mom and Dad also have purchased several cars over the years from Bill Kolb Jr. Subaru and Gary is always willing to go above and beyond to help us to find a great car and meet all of our needs. He is an excellent salesman who is very friendly and knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. Also, Paul Spiegel was very helpful and friendly and always helped us to find the right car and get us a great deal. Both Gary and Paul were helpful in many ways and were willing to help us with whatever we needed and I have been always been very happy with my cars and quality service from them. I would highly recommend buying cars from them and I will definitely again in the future. More
Would NOT recommend for used cars Do NOT buy a used car from this dealership. I have regretted my purchase ever since I made it in January. Bill Kolb's used cars are not Certified, Pre Do NOT buy a used car from this dealership. I have regretted my purchase ever since I made it in January. Bill Kolb's used cars are not Certified, Pre-Owned Subarus. They tell you that this is an advantage because they do the same 152-point inspection while saving you the approximately $1,000 in costs to get the official certification from Subaru. However, when I first went to test drive the car I purchased, the battery was dead. We asked them to check the battery carefully during the inspection process, and they assured us that this would be done. Within a month of owning this car, the battery was completely dead and needed to be replaced. It's clear to me that Bill Kolb Subaru either lied about the inspection that was completed, or they knew about the problem with the battery and sold me the car anyway (knowing that I was moving out of state and they would not be responsible for replacing it). Either way, it was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. It's not the only problem I've had with the car, either. My entire experience both with the staff at Bill Kolb and with the car since purchasing it has been negative, and I will never be going back. I'll be encouraging everyone I know to do the same. More

Worst shopping experience ever! Lies upon Lies! Let's start by saying this was the worst shopping experience I've ever experienced, both on the buying and selling side. Let me bullet some of the is Let's start by saying this was the worst shopping experience I've ever experienced, both on the buying and selling side. Let me bullet some of the issues. -LIES -More LIES -Charged $1,200 in Accessories, yet never provided good for this. Lied that it was money for the Bank called a "Credit Bump". -Quoted a price for the vehicle, yet the price on the paperwork stated a higher price. They then lied stating the difference was a DMV charge. -Down sold me into a vehicle that I didn't want. -They lied, stating I didn't need a new TrueCar certificate for the vehicle I purchased, as they would be giving me the same pricing as TrueCar. -Very rude and unwilling to accept they lied and tried to scam me. -Failed to use the price quotes from my previous visit a few weeks earlier. They stated that I would be given the same or better price regardless. -Failed to provide the proper documentation when requested and then lied that they didn't have the ability to provide it to me. After researching for a vehicle on many different websites, dealerships and third parties (Truecar, Cars, Edmunds etc.), I had received many quotes on vehicle pricing, the best of which was from Truecar. I came to this dealership with a Truecar quote, a few weeks prior to this terrible experience. It took a few weeks to decide on which car I would prefer to purchase, which would be a Finance, as this is the route I have always taken. I brought a Truecar certificate with me and discussed the Invoice price of a few WRX's that I was interested in and had Truecar certificates for. I worked with Ross Kelter originally, however I had never heard back from him after this initial visit. This is already on track for a poor experience. Regardless, I came back to this dealer as it was the most convenient location, even though I had been rubbed to wrong way from day 1. I came in on a Saturday, a few weeks later, roughly around 11am-12pm. I was with my 2 year old daughter and had been sitting in the sales floor for nearly 1 1/2 hours before someone was "available" to work with me. Ross said he was busy and couldn't assist me. I had to request for someone to open a car for me to at least look at which waiting, as this wasn't offered by the staff. I finally get assistance from Gerald Ford. I came into the dealership for either a WRX STI Base or WRX Premium/Limited w/ Sound System, Keyless Tech., Navigation etc., a fully loaded car. Also, I had Truecar quotes for this and multiple dealerships... which was AVOIDED in being used by this dealership. What better way to slime yourself out of using a Truecar certificate by pushing to sell a vehicle that I didn't have a Truecar certificate for. The Lease price quotes for the fully loaded WRX and base STI were outrageously expensive... high $600's for an STI?? You aren't serious right?.. Over $500 for a WRX with tech features...? These were scare tactics used to get me into another vehicle. Also, where is my Truecar price that was discussed? Now we have downgraded to a Base Premium with only heated seats, which was never a feature that cared for in the first place. I asked about the Truecar price on this vehicle and was told "no worries, we will give you the lowest price regardless." Okay, well that's good at least. So how much for this $28,000 vehicle with the Lease and Finance? Finance, about $550+/month on a 72 month finanace or a 36 month lease with 10k miles for $460/month. Hmm... The websites I researched quoted me no more than $400/month for a WRX, with tech features on a lease, and your website says $300/month for a Base Model WRX... how does this make any sense.. So I ask why this is so high, the answer given was "my credit score is terrible", however "they will do me a huge favor and get it bumped by the leasing company, "Subaru Motor Finance (Chase)". So I find out I'm Tier 3, on just ONE of the 3 bureau's. They never ran my other two credit scores and told me that's because Chase only accepts the One. I called Subaru Motor Finance and Chase and they told me that that isn't true, they use ALL 3 Bureau's!!! I was told the vehicle would be sold to be at invoice, and was told that was $29,000. I was battling to lower the price, as $460 is extremely high. I got the price down to $445. Another dealership quoted me a lower price, so this dealer lowered my price again to $414. Big difference already, but why so much if they "always give the best price"??? I'm told "this is the absolute best price, my credit score doesn't allow for any other room". This is very far from the truth. I come to pick up the car that night at the agreed pricing of $414/month, 36 months, 12k miles. It is now after hours and when I go to pick the car up the Marty is no longer there to discuss the documentation. I should've scratched this deal by this point, but I was suckered into buying it, being lied into thinking my credit score doesn't allow for anything better and that I'm being given the best price possible and that the other dealership is lying to me about their quote... what a foolish decision in believing them. I am told that I would be charged the agreed upon $1,500 down, and to later see my card charged for $1,675.. When questioned, I am given another lie about why they intentionally over charged me. Oh yeah, I still haven't received a receipt for that charge, as I was told it would be given to me when I return on Monday to discuss the paperwork. I needed to discuss a $1,200 Accessory charge on the invoice, as well as why the Invoice read $29,600, instead of $29,000 as discussed. This is where it all goes way downhill, practically into xxxx itself. I returned on Monday as spoken of with Gerald on Saturday night, in order to discuss the discrepancies on the paperwork. When sitting in the office with Marty, discussing these discrepancies, he decided the best course of action is to Lie and Lie and Lie and Lie some more! I ask to see the Invoice of the car I purchased and I was told that he isn't going to show it to me. I asked to see why I am being charged $1,200 for Accessories when this was never discussed, nor have I received anything to compensate for this large sum of cash. I asked to see the Automate screen, and there it is, $1,200 in the Accessory Line. I asked what that was, and Marty tell me verbatim "the $1,200 is the credit bump, this money goes to the bank". Now things are shady, as it blatantly states "Accessory" on the screen, NOT "Credit Bump"! I proceed to call two friends of mine, one who happens to be the General Sales Manager and the other a Sales Manager at another car dealership. While they are on the phone and while sitting in Marty's office with him, I asked them about this charge, and what they said blew my mind... They said, "that is an Accessory charge, there is no such thing as a $1,200 credit bump". The one friend then asks Marty over speakerphone, "Marty, please explain to me what a credit bump is.", so Marty decides to Lie yet again and makes up some story as to what a "Credit Bump Charge" is. My friend tells him he is lying and that I should get up and leave. Marty then says, I don't have to tell you xxxx and I am no longer going to, also he cannot leave as he already signed the documents for the car. So now at this point I have been Lied to, Robbed, Price Gouged and Entrapped into purchasing a vehicle under false premises. Now being in the dealership for over 2 hours, arguing over all of these Lies, and now my threat to call a Lawyer and the Police, now they all of a sudden want to work with me. I am asked to sit in the other room while they do whatever they are scheming. I come back 10 minutes later and all of a sudden they are going to "wave" the $1,200 LIE/THEFT. I was having it at this point. We goes back and forth for another hour, all the while my friend is still working with me on the phone to help work through this disaster. Now they are offering me $389/month, from the original $460/month on a 36 month, 12k miles lease. HUGE difference in price, even though I was told they were already giving me the best price. I wasn't having it still and started to get very frustrated and they now know it, as I am seconds away from calling the police and that I had already contacted a lawyer. Not only this, but there is another dealership on the phone listening and dealing with this same issue with me. Now they want to lower the price down to the lowest possible price they can offer, just so as Marty said "The Manager (Joe Postighone) just doesn't want to see your face anymore"... well that's nice. Now the offer is $362/month, 36 months, 12k miles. I am now told that I EITHER, Take the $362/month deal OR They will leave me at the $414/month and I can walk out of the store or they will then call the police on me for trespassing... WOW! Well, they refused to give me my car back, which by the way, I traded in my 2015 Honda Civic SI towards this vehicle, and it was an even trade, or was that also another Lie? At this point, I am having an anxiety attack from this situation, my Wife is freaking out, I am bothering other people to assist in this issue and it's all because I caught their scams and lies and now they are trying to defend themselves over something they started. I requested proof and a copy that my credit report was sent into the bank, and I'm told they cannot print that for me as it's done digitally. I asked for the copies of my 3 credit bureau's and am told they only ran one and provided me with this copy. They finally showed me the invoice copy for the vehicle I purchased, and the price I saw was thousands of dollars less than what they were selling me the car for, which doesn't match their word or the Truecar price. I told them that the Clutch is making a weird ticking/clicking sound when pressed and it can be felt in the brake pedal when both are pressed simultaneously. I'm told that is how the clutch is, it's normal and there is nothing to worry about. I have to get this checked because my friend, who has had 5 WRX/STI's, said that doesn't seem normal to him and that I should get it checked. I am extremely infuriated with this situation!!! I have EXTREME Buyer's Remorse and regret ever buying this vehicle, especially from this dealership. I have wasted dozens of hours contacting Subaru, the Bank, Lawyers etc. because of this issue. I am hoping this bites this dealership in the xxx and leaves a permanent mark, so that this never happens to another person. I can only imagine how many people have been scammed and robbed, yet they don't even know. More
