Two days ago I wrote a review on this forum that was scathing to say the least, and I felt that I had been truly wronged by this dealership. I am replacing that review with these words because I feel that anyone who wants to know the true integrity of this company that they need to read the following. I am a happy man today with my faith fully restored in Bill Mcbride's Automotive Group. To reiterate what I wrote two days ago, I was sold a 2003 Dodge Caravan last year with 175,000 miles that had multiple problems from the very beginning. After numerous visits to get the problems fixed and getting the run around, I felt that this dealership had used some very unsavory practices. I had found out since it was a small select group of people who should have never been employed there and had caused great embarrassment for McBride's that I had the misfortune to deal with. Recently, my van had a bad bearing which meant that the entire engine needed to be replaced. I was still making payments on the van. Because of my bad credit , I was financed at that time through a high interest unsavory company known as Credit Acceptance with an equally unsavory warranty that was pushed unto me by that same group. The warranty was not going to help me and was trying to make it impossible to cover what needed to be. After what I had been through, and the people I had to deal with before today, I was beyond angry, sick from the ordeal, and unable to get to work. This prompted me to write the review that was on here previous.What I never expected was that the management would read this and immediately swing into action. The next day I received a message from Ed Enus( Sorry if a spell this wrong) the Chief Financial Officer at the dealership. I called back and told my story and he was clearly appalled by the way I was treated and offered to remedy my problem immediately. Less than an hour later, Steve Powers, an the Auto group Business Manager, offered to send a car, driven by a very nice gentleman by the name of Will, to pick me up and bring me in to get another vehicle. Mind you I live an hour away from Plattsburgh. Within three hours time, I had a 2008 Ford Taurus with much less miles, I was financed by Community Bank, I now have a much better and more reasonable warranty, the high remaining balance for the van was paid off by the dealership, and now I have the car in my driveway. I can't thank enough Steve Powers, Rodney Douglas, and Kalika Hopkins for their superb professionalism and courtesy throughout the process. I was also humbled by the sincere apologies I received from this group and most of all the apology I got from Brian McBride himself. While I was getting in the car to drive away, Bill McBride Jr. showed up at the Value mart where I got my vehicle, and I let him know what a superb staff he has there. Like I stated above, my faith is fully restored in this dealership and as a customer, if you feel you were not treated right, they will make it right with everything they have. Thank You!
