Bill Utter Jr. was 14 when he started working at Bill Utter Ford. With his new driver's license, Bill began delivering parts for the family dealership. Bill and Virginia Utter opened the doors to their new Ford dealership in 1956 in downtown Denton. It was the beginning of a family tradition of offering the best Ford products and services to North Texas families.
In the early days, they were simply concerned with making ends meet from day to day and treating each customer with courtesy and respect, as they would any friend. Many of those customers became lifelong friends, and the business grew from one referral to another to serve generations. Phil went out of his way to help accommodate us, we had to drive from out of town to purchase our vehicle and we were on a time crunch, racing against the clock to get the car inspected, Phil put new tires to drive from out of town to purchase our vehicle and we were on a time crunch, racing against the clock to get the car inspected, Phil put new tires on it for us and helped us every step of the way. The last time I was here everything was great, today RFID readers were not working, the chargers were. I called inside and a very pleasant young lady said someone would be right out. I was fortunate enough to get David Ahrens, the service manager. We fiddled with it a bit with no luck. He went in and came back with an RFID card. He used it and away it went. He apolgized for the problem and said the charge was on them! Thank you David, you turned an unhappy morning into a great day!! More
