I had a very disappointing experience at this dealership. My salesperson, Julian White, seemed completely unmotivated and uninterested in helping me. From the moment I arrived, I felt unwelcome. He didn't even take the time to sit down with me to discuss my needs and came across as though he hated his job. What made the experience even worse was that no one else at the dealership greeted or acknowledged me. Customer service appeared to be a complete afterthought. I left feeling disrespected and frustrated by the entire interaction. Based on my experience, I would recommend avoiding this dealership and taking your business elsewhere. There are plenty of dealers that actually value their customers and make an effort to provide a professional experience. More

They couldn’t actually give it to me because it had not gone through a pre-sale inspection. - [ ] During negotiations, no one seemed to know that Kia was giving $1500 cash towards the purchase which was even listed on Bob Rohrman‘s own website. This included the general manager, Ricky Perez. - [ ] Contacted me the next day saying my vehicle would be ready by noon. - [ ] Arrived at noon, vehicle is not even close to ready. - [ ] It was 12:30 when we were finally able to see the vehicle. Upon seeing it, we realized that the vehicle had not been cleaned… rocks on the floor, protective plastic still covering everything, adhesive on the window from the MSRP sticker, sticky substance on the outside of the vehicle. The outside of the vehicle not clean, not to mention a staple sitting on top of the hood. - [ ] In addition, it was only charged to 29% giving a total of 75 miles of range, barely enough to get back home. IN OTHER WORDS, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT APPROPRIATELY INSPECTED LET ALONE ROADWORTHY (see further below). - [ ] After talking with the general manager, Ricky, he offered a free oil change. Laughable, because it’s an EV. He offered to buy lunch, but we just wanted to go home. He would not take responsibility for not knowing that there was a $1500 customer cash allowance or making sure his staff knew (blamed the tech people). He also blamed all other issues on being understaffed. The person who sold the vehicle was apparently responsible for cleaning it. - [ ] Hours later, Devarj Datcher (the only bright spot of the day) took the time to show us how to use everything in the vehicle as it was placed on a level three charger so we could finally go home. We think he might have floor mats mailed to us (yet to receive) due to him. Who knew basic mats were not included with the vehicle. - [ ] Once home, I removed the multitude protective plastic coverings as nothing was removed. - [ ] More importantly, I had to deflate my tires to spec. They were more than 30% overinflated. For those that don’t know, this is very dangerous if you should hit a pothole. You run the risk of a blowout. - [ ] I contacted corporate afraid that no pre-sale inspection was done. They insisted that I go back to the same dealer (an hour away). If I wanted another dealer to do this, I would have to pay them out of my own pocket! - [ ] I refuse to go back to a dealer that could not adequately inspect and prepare let alone send me on my way safely the first time. - [ ] This is my first Kia. I will never buy a Kia again. The dealer is horrendous. Corporate will not pay to make sure things are done the way they should’ve been done. However, the front desk representative was not interested in explaining the lease offer or discussing available options. He simply said that the vehicle was not available and made no effort to answer my questions or help me explore alternatives. Even if the advertised vehicle is unavailable, I would expect the staff to be courteous, provide more information, and make an effort to assist potential customers. This experience left me feeling that gaining or assisting customers was not a priority. More

I bought a certified pre-owned car in April and had a pretty frustrating experience overall. The buying process itself was slow and typical, long wait times and pressure from finance to buy an extended warranty. Before purchasing, I made sure the sales associate noted I needed a second key. First I was told a coworker had it and to come back the next week (inconvenient since I live in the city). Then the timeline got pushed out another week, then the story changed again - they weren’t sure if it was actually the spare, and said I needed to come in, check, then come back again after ordering to program a new key. I asked them to just order one to avoid multiple trips. When I showed up, no one knew what I was talking about. A manager eventually admitted I should have received two keys with a CPO vehicle. They did manage to program a key, and the service team was efficient once I pushed for it, but the process was disorganized and full of finger-pointing. Meanwhile, I got a flat tire and discovered the car had wheel locks but no key was provided. I had already bought a spare kit since one wasn’t included, but that didn’t help without the lock key. My sales rep offered no real solution other than towing the car, at my expense, back to the dealership to have the locks broken off. I ended up paying a local mechanic $100 to remove and replace them. When I told the manager, he basically brushed it off and said I could call him next time. Overall, the experience was messy, inconvenient, and poorly handled. I wouldn’t recommend Schaumburg Kia. More
