My husband and I had a difficult situation with the purchase of our Cadillac SRX. We purchased it on Jan 31, 2010 and the next day, it would not start! With everyone out for 2 days for the holiday, we did not hear from anyone from the dealership (since we only had e-mail addresses and the dealership number). We did finally find in the manual a number with Cadillac to obtain service. Although we did not need the car over the weekend, it was very stressful and frustrating to have just purchased a vehicle for over $25K and not be able to drive it. Cadillac came out on Monday and got it started and although it took me an entire additional day at the dealership, we were able to get a resolution with the vehicle. Eveyone was very nice and worked hard to see that we not only regained faith in the vehicle but also in the dealership, since our initial experinece was so poor. I do, however, feel that for the amount of time we spent in the purchase process, the stress of not knowing what was going on with our car for 2 days and the additional day spent at the dealership, to get everything squared away, we should have been offered some additional compensation/perks. Services which could be provided at little cost to the dealership would go a long way in showing a commitment to our product purchase.
