We understand how frustrating it can be to encounter unexpected requirements after a purchase, especially when registering a vehicle out of state. Because the vehicle was purchased in Virginia and registered in Maryland, Maryland law requires a separate state safety inspection that is performed by an independent inspection facility of the customer’s choosing. As disclosed and acknowledged at the time of sale, the dealership is not involved in or able to control the outcome, findings, or recommendations of Maryland inspection stations. The vehicle was sold as-is, with an FTC Buyer’s Guide provided and signed, and the optional protection coverage was respectfully declined. With fewer than 3,000 miles, the vehicle met Virginia requirements at delivery, and items such as window tint compliance and inspection-related recommendations are specific to Maryland standards and the inspecting shop’s discretion. That said, we genuinely want to be helpful and transparent. We are happy to review any inspection findings with you and discuss them directly to ensure clarity and fairness. I don’t know who this response is coming from, but the continued misrepresentation is unacceptable. None of the information now being referenced was disclosed prior to or at the time of sale. The vehicle already had well over 3,000 miles before I arrived, and I was only permitted to test drive it after clear reluctance on your part. Had it not been for a colleague who accompanied me and advocated on my behalf, I likely would not have been allowed to even sit in the vehicle—an entirely inappropriate and unprofessional practice. When critical information is withheld, customers are forced to rely solely on what they are told, and that is exactly what occurred here. I am confident others reading this can attest to similar experiences. It is also concerning that you chose to respond publicly and request a public resolution while failing to address my open ticket. To date, no one from management has contacted me, which further demonstrates a lack of accountability throughout this process. Additionally, my concern was never about the window tint—had anyone from management reached out, this would have been clear. To anyone considering doing business here, especially out-of-state buyers, I strongly urge you to proceed with caution. You may want to consider other out of state alternatives such as Lindsay, Radley, Pohanka, or Country Chevrolet. All have stronger reviews and may be worth exploring if their management is even marginally more responsive than Bomnin Manassas.
