Should have read the negative reviews before attempting to do business with Carmax. Paid $99 to ship a car to our location for test drive and Carmax assured a 14-day wait. It's been almost a month. We've requested reimbursement of our shipping expense but they're so unprofessional- stay away. Would have given 0 star but no such option. More

My husband and I drove to Maryland to purchase the vehicle although o whom It May Concern: I would like to address my recent experiences with CarMax. My husband and I drove to Maryland to purchase the vehicle although our duration at the sales department was rather long it was the way the vehicle was presented to me after purchasing that was disappointing. The vehicle was provided to me unclean I was upset but ok. The matters of the bank receiving the title the back reported that CarMax did not send over the title in order for me to pay the necessary taxes so I am unable to register the vehicle in my state. It is disappointing to know that I have a vehicle that I am unable to drive due to these matters, but monthly payments are being paid on time. It is going on four months and the matter has yet to be resolved. My question to CarMax is How can my matter be resolved? I have been waiting patiently at this time I am out of options and may have to take this matter further. Any solution is greatly appreciated. More

Dont buy from carmax!!! We are paying for a car that we don't drive. Our engine is going out and is still under warranty. Because we don't have oil change receipts they wont replace the engine. Our car has been in the shop with car max twice before for overheating so you would think to check if oil was the problem .. we still owe at least $8000 left but they won't put us in a different car and transfer the balance over to the new car. .. were stuck !!! DO NOT BUY A CAR AT CARMAX!! We paid cash for a VW Beetle for our daughter’s 16th birthday—the report the salesman showed it had been a rental car with no accidents. While we driving it to park it until her for our daughter’s 16th birthday—the report the salesman showed it had been a rental car with no accidents. While we driving it to park it until her birthday, it was making a popping noise. We talked to CarMax, they told us to take it to a VW dealer for repair, and the dealer would bill CarMax directly. We got a call from the dealer saying they couldn’t fix it on the warranty because it had been in an accident. So we try to get another car from CarMax, no luck. On top of that, it’s going to take 2-3 weeks to get our money back. Our daughter’s birthday is next week and she has no car, and we don’t have the money to buy another one until we get the check. I know two other people that this happened to. By the way, the car we returned to them still says it’s accident free. More
