My experience this time around was just ok. My credit was pulled for each vehicle I inquired about, multiple times on 1, so a total of 5 inquiries hit my credit. The car had a rodent nest under the hood, the tires had gashes and bubbles in three of them, and there was an oil leak. These things were found when getting a diagnosis from the dealership. CarMax was able to get the car in and fixed, but I was under the impression that a thorough multipoint inspection is done on every vehicle before it’s sold. More

I had a great experience purchasing a vehicle at CarMax. All personnel I dealt with were friendly and patient with me. Repeatedly horrific experience on multiple levels across several stores! Drove to Wichita on President’s day to buy car seen online. Website says u accept credit cards. Staff, without looking at me waves to back of lot and says “they’re open” ( it wasn’t). After several trips back to front desk to try to get help, decided to buy. Told u do NOT take credit cards, and i am unable to get money from bank as it’s holiday. Wasted trip! unfortunately found another car online. Arranged to ship-told would arrive Sun. Email tracker traced it to StLouis, then back to Indianapolis. Called to xxu, left on hold 30 minutes(!), told shipping cancelled. Reordered it. Made appt to see car at local dealer, but when I showed up, Car not here. Very angry at this point. Car finally arrived and i purchased. Would never shop at Carmax again! However, Antonio Hernandez was calm, professional, and helpful. More
sales team was ok. mixed messages frequently. communication on updates was great though. the vehicle itself was ok. started to rattle right off the lot, brakes need to mixed messages frequently. communication on updates was great though. the vehicle itself was ok. started to rattle right off the lot, brakes need to be replaced, alignment is not correct. all these should’ve been checked by the inspection this dealership loves to brag about. now i have to spend $1000 on brake work and this rattle fix because they decided to either rush the inspection, not do it at all, or tamper with the brakes to keep them from squealing for about 100 miles. absolute joke of a dealership. basically just wasted $40,000. stay away. More
