I came to pick up my Car and I was leaving and the garage door came down on my trunk!!!!! I honked my horn and someone finally came out and was surprised!! It took 2 weeks to get my car back in to get a new trunk. I was not very happy. the service guy told me he could put a spoiler on the truck? Told me to drop off my car at 8AM. I did. I called in the afternoon around 3pm and they said they just started working on it at 2pm. Due to my job I had to wait until the next day to pick it up. I picked it up and it appeared they didn't put a new trunk on just a used one. No spoiler. They were sending paperwork to Johnson county to get my tags I am still waiting. You would think through Car Max negligence they may have been a little more helpful. This was my first purchase with CarMax More
I am a repeat customer as well as my family. I have always had good luck with CarMax. They do the work for you and even though there is a fee attached to their sales, it is well worth it. Also, if you want to test drive a car that's not in the state it is another fee getting it here. I feel they hire individuals who know cars, but are not pushy. I drove my sales guy crazy and this time around was not as easy as I was thinking of going from an SUV to a Sedan to change it up. He couldn't reserve two cars for me at a time, so timing was everything. I had his cell number and even texted him on his day off. He was very thorough and I felt I was in good hands. It all worked out and I got the car I was meant to have. He took his time going over all the paperwork with me. It does take awhile to get the paperwork done, but they are very intentional and explain everything. I appreciate that. I left my sales person's card with his name at home with my car information. Having seen it online, I had paid to have this vehicle transported from CarMax Santa Fe New Mexico to CarMax Merriam, Ks. I liked that the website had 33 photos, mileage and, blemish information online. That was sufficient for me to invest the transportation fee. Somewhat disappointed that it was routed through Omaha, Ne to get Merriam, Ks but could live with that delay. On date of test driving, the salesperson brought the wrong truck around. Brought a blue four door, mine is a white 2 door. Not sure what to think about the 100 some odd supposed quality checks. The engine and interior were spotless but having come from New Mexico the under carriage was encompassed with soil in the fender wells, top of frame, and top of spare tire. To me that falls short of the advertised quality check and readiness for ownership. They cleaned some of it but not all while we closed the transaction. More

Update:🤯🤯🤯 They reached out and basically said they’re not giving me my money back! They referred me to an higher up just to tell me the same thing! CARMAX = CROOKS!!!! Applied for a vehicle and was “p not giving me my money back! They referred me to an higher up just to tell me the same thing! CARMAX = CROOKS!!!! Applied for a vehicle and was “pre-approved” paid $250 to have it shipped. The day I was coming to town I received an email that I wasn’t approved. They kept my money I spent on the shipping then proceed to apologize. Don’t spend any money with them. Believe the reviews, because if I had done that I wouldn’t be out of $250. More
Purchased a car a year and half ago. Need to now sell same car so went back to Carmax and found car has depreciated 11000. I purchased a vehicle from CarMax on Feb 20th and they had it shipping out of MA within a day and by Feb 28th they killed the EV's 12V battery by failing to put it in transport mode and plugging it in. The vehicle was then stuck in Chicago for 4 WEEKS. They failed to follow warranty processes of car manufacturers and tried to tell me they couldn't get it serviced until April 14th. I called the manufacturer and they got the service appointment moved up to March 19 (three business days after I called). The manufacturer had to do everything to get the situation resolved as CarMax didn't help but tried to claim credit that their team got the appointment moved up. CarMax got the vehicle back on March 24th and couldn't get transportation arranged for 4 days. Remember they originally shipped it out in one day but the local General Manager tried to tell me it was so extremely complex to ship this vehicle thus the delay. The vehicle is still not here five weeks after purchase; Chicago is only 6 hours from us. I will never buy another vehicle from them again. We have to ask for updates while everyone up to the store manager just makes excuses. If it weren't for the EV configuration, I would have bought from someone else a month ago. More
